Sad what’s become of big Scotty. A WC hero. But sadly has been overcome by the filth of the club he now plays for. Shame.

I can’t believe the guernsey stunt of that song. What a pathetic, juvenile organisation. I hope the VFL looks at it, but they probably won’t bother. Let the parasites have their “win”.
It was truly a pathetic stunt that I think even the most hardcore port fans would have found cringeworthy. Yes heritage matters. But the way ports going about celebrating it is pathetic.

This whole protest was embarrassing and wasted on a showdown. They play Collingwood at AO later on the year, much better doing it then. But as usual port just are brainless.

McHenry looked like he was ready to throw punches with our support staff.

The unnecessary deliberate and forceful sling tackle was basically him punched drunk.

Lycett will get 3+ games for this.
I think it will be 3 games. The afl seldom go over that. I regard what Dangerfield did to Kelly worse and he got 3. It was dumb by lycett.

What I would like to see is the afl make a genuine statement with the want to protect the head. It's too late for Lycett but I would like to see the afl introduce in future years mandatory 5 game suspensions for tackles and careless high impact hits that result in concussion sub. Twice two port players used dangerous tackles last night. Surely that's a signal to the AFL the players aren't getting the memo and are still looking to hurt their opponents and they are happy to run the line of risk of suspension.

If drs want players concussed to sit out of games through no fault of their own and have to deal with potential long term side affects then the reckless players should be held totally to account and have to have very long suspensions.

It's a marketing ploy that they bring out every now and then and Eddie is happy to help them out. It seems to work so I guess you gotta give them credit.

A friend of mine lived in Adelaide for 3 years, he's from the US. He went for Adelaide while he lived here, I guess because I did.

His workmates took him to a Port Power game once. The next day he was telling me about it, in his American accent, 'jesus man, it was like they are all ice addicts'.

I can respect if opposition supporters call our crowd "older" and "apricot slicers" etc etc, but without any doubt the Port crowd are a rough, rabid, feral drugged up demographic.

I also want to know which poster on here was sitting behind the goals with his Crows scarf on surrounded by Port supporters, where the cameras focused on?

I said in the game day thread, who was that poor crows bastard behind the goals

The other thing is that the whistle had gone before he drove him into the ground as well.

At the same time, the umps have to call for a ball up earlier so the players don't have to continue tackling. For me, they let it go too long because they are scared another ball up will result in congestion, so players tackle longer and drive players in to the ground.

2 to 3 weeks if I was in charge, noting he had no care for the player by continuing to lay on top of him when he was clearly out of it. There was no apology or remorse at all.

This got 4 weeks last year. That should be the minimum.

Strong precedent here, Lycett being double McHenry's size too. Is it a variable? Im fairly certain IIRC NicNat received a ban because of his huge size difference with a player and had to be responsible.

I actually thought Lycett's was worse, it was a forceful hard slam tackle into the ground.

McHenry, (sadly) punched drunk from the sling tackle, failed concussion test and likely prognosis to miss at least a week.
That's a given. If a player sits out the game or is subbed out with concussion, they need to sit out the next week.

I think thats the defining issue, if the player continued and or did he have a concussion test and came back on or subbed out.
I reckon if it's a football incident and they don't get injured then fair enough but if its a coward punch or an elbow and you don't injure the player you probably should get something.
