They genuinely believe they're hard done by. Their Facebook fan page says "the Port Adelaide tax was applied in full".

The same Port Adelaide tax that gave them the softest post-minor premiers fixture in history?

Is the Port Power tax the reason they are $16 million in the hole?

I’m confused. Port were saying the prison bars was a player led initiative. Then Chris Davies was on 5aa last night saying the leadership group came up with the idea together.

Now Cal Twomey is saying the club had the idea weeks ago and told the leadership group in the week leading up to the game that they had to do it, and the rest of the playing group only found out after the game?

Port spin at it's best, they even had their mouth pieces primed to sprout the crap.

DerrrWayne told us it was player led.

A bit like how NTUA was supporter led and not a bit of cheap cross promotion for a channel 7 mini series.

Geelong Supporter????

The girlfriend of AFL star Scott Lycett has delivered a brave response to sick threats she has received on social media.

Her boyfriend, Port Adelaide ruckman Scott Lycett, on Sunday revealed a series of disgusting messages he received after an ugly sling tackle on Adelaide’s Ned McHenry.

Five minutes was all I could take.

So a miscarriage of justice in the VFL kangaroo court. Who'd have seen that coming

Dangerfield got three for an illegal bump on a player who had to be stretchered off. So, yeah, naturally because it's us it's deemed worse than that. Didn't Gaff only get 8?

I’d have said the same thing for us

There was always going to be a Port Adelaide tax on the penalty.

hmmm...

The prosecution presented as evidence a video of Scooter returning to the scene of the crime and watering the ground where he planted that spud.

rude. But, it’s their board, they can be deluded as they want

Rubbish decision. Clearly the VFL want to cut us down a peg because of the Prison Bars. It's the same garbage pulled by the SANFL.

it never ceases to amaze me how many of their own supporters call them the Prison Bars... they are WHARF PYLONS

(construct additional pylons)

Where's the precedent? Of coarse they make an example of a port player get f’ed

Alex Neal-Bullen on line 1, sir. He says it’s important?

Port caught out in a lie? Colour me black and white striped!

You need to appreciate and understand the demographic and culture of Alberton understands and relates to prison a lot more easily and readily than wharf.

Lycett is only remorseful because he got 4 weeks

That's the case with pretty much every player that gets suspended.

Dangerfield didn't even bother checking Kelly was ok, and then two days later he's suddenly remorseful? Give me a spell.

Gaff's crocodile tears after he smashed a bloke behind play was another one.

Tell them to blame Eddie for getting an extra 1 game prison bars tax... ;)

Their supporters in my office have been whinging all bloody week & i imagine more of the same tomorrow.

I would be embarrassed if any Crow supporter carried on like a pork chop like many of them do.

Must be part of their creed to have a chip on your shoulder & the whole world is against you....

Port Adelaide Magpies reveled in the "us against them" mentality. It galvanized their supporters and in their eyes made them a special group who had to stick together against the SANFL's authority and other clubs.
They thrived on this victim mentality and it lead them to being successful in the SANFL.
In the AFL they desired to wear the prison bars and black and white but on joining the AFL they signed away that right.
It was a compromise they chose to make to get in the AFL.

Port have realized they are no longer the big fish in the AFL and as yet have not been able to transfer this group mentality to their AFL supporters.
So why not create an artificial issue which once again highlights to their supporters that it is still "Us against them."

Actions like Davies suggest this was never a grass roots issue but a calculated effort to galvanize their supporters together.
Initially heritage round was a revisit of their history but now they have found in this issue an opportunity to create a festering wound.
It can't be healed unless Collingwood relent and allow a change to the agreement and the chances of this are low.
Port will now regularly 'poke the bear' (the authority AFL) and play the victim and make Collingwood the target.
They'll play on the SA vs VIC rivalry, the storyline that Collingwood dictates to the AFL and the AFL is anti interstate.
If they are continuously rebuked it works in their favour and if the AFL agree they are seen as strong.
This issue could be stopped immediately if Port chose but "They'll never tear us apart!" is beneficial to their narrative of galvanizing their supporters and loosening their wallets.

He was crying because he knew he was gonna miss a grandfinal, he didn't give a shit about the player he hurt
