Congrats on the flag. I would suggest trading your 2022r2 for richmond pick 40,44 to get the picks to help fill your 6 lost spots.Means we have 6 spots for them.

Problem is there’s just not a lot around. Only big move looks to be Cerra and *maybe* Mitchell; most clubs are staying pretty quiet. Combination of tight caps and uncertainty around the quality of the draft is biting.I agree with most of the sentiments here but we've just won a flag so I'd find it hard to believe if he just went to the draft with pick 33 and 42 etc without improving our list for next season. This is a big chance to double down with a good player or 2. Whether it's a free agent or something. Now is our time to double down.

Gunston would be our 2nd best forward straight off the bat.
So we can kick 160 next yearWe kicked 140 points in a grand final, why do we need Gunston?
Just means teams won’t improve enough to stop us going B2BGod this is a boring trade period. It looked momentarily like it might be interesting when Neale randomly started mumbling about going back to Freo, but no luck. Half the blokes talked about as moving I’ve never heard of. I would almost take an annoying repetitive story about some Treloar type being pushed out against his will or something. I wish Collingwood could become funny again - last year was a riot

You have to continue to build and grow your list. I did read a stat somewhere that said no Premiership side has ever played together again. That's unbelievable, but shows that players move on, retire, get injured and you need to continue to bring players in that will fill spots. It's easy to sit here and think the same 23 blokes will lead to us to premiership glory, but reality says that can't happen. We got lucky with injuries this season, but with less of a break over summer, and the likelihood of not having that amazing run again, we need to bring in quality players still.
With Hibbo probably having only 1 year left, I'd look at bringing in a mid sized defender. I'd still like another wingman, as well as Gus did on GF day, we could do with another outside runner. If we had a strong draft hand, no doubt we'd get Cerra. But we don't. So who else is out there? Or do we just turn to the draft and hope JT can work his magic again with our latter picks?
Hopefully Vossy rehashes his Brisbane trading strategy for q couple of weeks for the lols. 6 and Walsh for Cerra or something equally bamboozling. SPS for pick 89 from West Coast maybe?God this is a boring trade period. It looked momentarily like it might be interesting when Neale randomly started mumbling about going back to Freo, but no luck. True. Consistency should count for something. I spent a complicated day on Saturday trying to replicate my movements from the day of the preliminary final, then nearly collapsed from heat exhaustion after the GF because I was wearing the entire range of my established lucky clothes. This happened for two weeks in the build up. Hassa Mann came out and said the Curse of Norm Smith was lifted after Gawn kicked the goal after the siren, 95% of experts tipped us to win the flag, hundreds of past players recorded videos for the team telling them that they were going to win and be heroes, Mike Sheahan revealed that Simon Goodwin told him we were going to win before the season started. I'm starting to think there is no whatever or thing at all and we should all just be arrogant campaigners.
Don't get ahead of yourself. Our forward line was an issue all year. We can't be complacent we need to continue to get better. Yes, we scored heavily for 45 mins in the GF which was orgasmic but we need to be honest.
- Scoring was an issue all year
- Weideman didn't evolve
- McDonald hit a huge form slump the last 6 weeks.
- Ben Brown hit his straps when it mattered but it took him half the season to make the team.
- Jackson proved he is going to be elite, but showed he isn't a forward that kicks goals.
Getting a guy like Gunston would make him our 2nd best forward behind Fritsch.
It doesn't even have to be Gunston but we need to keep improving.
A small lock down defender is also needed as Rivers is more your rebounding defender and Bowey as well although he was amazing on weightman
We were the 5th highest scoring team, no doubt that we would love to score more but I'm not sure who I would want out of the team for him to take their place?
I would happily look for a young forward that can develop with the team but I think there are certainly other parts of the ground where we could do with some coverage such as small/medium defenders and wingers.
Question whether he can get fully healthy though. Has had a couple of very bad years with his body. If he was cheap I'd say yes, but dunno that Hawthorn will keep giving up good players with a year or two left for pick 900.Well Jackson can play anywhere so we can move him out of the forward line. Jack Gunston when healthy is better than Ben Brown.

He would definitely be cheap. That goes without saying. Pick 30-45 will get it done.Question whether he can get fully healthy though. Has had a couple of very bad years with his body. I did .Brown had no pr-season . had to do it during the season . I just don't see what Gunston adds that we don't already have .You know Gunston was in AA last year yeah and Ben Brown only just beat Weideman out of the team halfway through the year. Take a step back from the GF and look at the season as a whole.
