Richmond did very well out of that.
To get a future 2nd rounder from the bottom team with the first pick in the psd for ccj

Ladhams >>>> ccj

I reckon ccj had a couple of good games at Richmond but I think he’s a risk to bomb at north. Not sure what his best position is yet, can he be a first ruck? Best return so far is 16 hitouts in a game. Just haven’t seen enough of him in the ruck to know.

The difference is CCJ plays for a victorian team and Ladhams plays for an "interstate" team
In this scenario anyone who is from a victorian team will always be worth more

The Coleman-Jones trade means North won’t be wasting the first PSD pick on him. Leaves it free for Dawson!!!!
Also shows how reasonable they are being by working an appropriate deal with Richmond so all team benefit, not like the crows who just want to screw clubs over by using the PSD

The sooner the PSD is scrapped the better

Turning Ladhams and next years Third into O’Meara and Finlayson is a big win for us
only if we win a cup imo. Omeara could win back to back all-aus guernseys but if he’s just here for the last days of hinkleys reign for us to be also-rans I’ll mark it down as a loss.

I'm with you but also agree that we need to strengthen our list both for the short and long-term, irrespective of our coach's glaring weaknesses.
I just don't get the Wingard love. O'Meara on the other hand brings us that speed out of stoppage and running ability that Boak has and is a better replacement for what we will lose when he moves out of the midfield. He will be 28 early next year. You probably expect to get 3 years out of him and pray for a Boak/Burgoyne like extension of his form beyond 30.

We've all been bitten by the failure of "missing link" recruits (Dixon, Ryder, Polec, Rockliff, Aliir) to add trophy-ware to our cabinets. But what do you do? If you can get O'Meara for our current first round pick, or for the pick that we get from Ladhams, I think you'd do it. It would also mark SPP's cards to the point that we'd probably push him out for any second rounder.

If we walk away with Finlayson, O'Meara, pick 30-ish having lost Ladhams, SPP, future third-rounder, it looks like a well-balanced trade period.
