This is fine if we get a hopper or parker. If not I don't like it. Tim Kelly cut his loses for a year. Maybe Lachie can as well.

I feel so sick in the stomach from hearing this news man right now like its not even funny like it's not the fact that Neale is moving back to WA that makes me upset but more so now what this could mean for the commitment of the other younger players staying at the club long-term in the future if Neale does leave the club for good (Berry, McCluggage, Rayner, Bailey, Starcevich, Robertson etc).

He joined us front ended contract and only leaving now. I don't see anyone protecting beams, nor should they protect Neale. I'm sure he has his reasons for wanting to leave, but it hurts the club immensely that he is doing it and it obviously shows how much he cares for the club.
I literally disagree with everything you say, kind of impressive.

It's a good thing they are all re-signed then. Club will always be bigger than any player that walks through the doors.

COVID is a big factor in this and I'm sure a few clubs will lose players they normally would have kept because of it.

It's all understandable, I'd just be hoping we haven't been blindsided by it as a club and we already have player lined up.

Parker for free, plus another elite mid with 6, plus Ashcroft next year, sets us up well in the short and long term.

But it does show how much he cares for his wife?

I don't think you're old enough to understand external elements of football.
He's a contracted player who is already spoken to a coach of an opposition club before the trade period has even started. Who knows, he probably talked to him before he told anyone in the club as well. You can defend this, but I'm not. I'm sure he has his reasons for returning, but surely honouring his contract and leaving for Perth when it's over is the least he could do.

You think players only talk to coaches and managers during trade period?

Knowing what my kids are doing in this covid era trying to raise a family, the pressures have intensified.

She's from WA . You need a Sherman Tank to get in there. She's expecting a baby. It's understandable.

I don't think it reflects on him but if we can find a way around it we will.

Or just suck it up and get whatever we can. We're in a good position to drive a hard bargain if he's determined to go.

Okay Dyla... I mean Forza.

If this is true, I'm quite happy with it.Neale played well for us but we need change.Hawthorn did it with Buddy,Richmond with Deledio then they topped up what were their weaknesses. We will have no shortage of suitors wanting to come play for us,just got to get the selection right.
All the best Lachie played his guts out for us.

Sorry for the intrusion, but when you Google "Lachie Neale Trade" one of the first things that pops up on Google is this brissie board thread from few days ago that was shut down for trolling lol

Mate you can't put a baby on hold for two years.

You're naive if you don't think Charlie did the exact same thing with us.

He played in Fyfe's shadow at Fremantle, so he joined Brisbane where he could join a winning team while also being the main player. He was never winning a Brownlow at Fremantle, and he only won it here because he was surrounded by great players. Of course Neale Is a fantastic player, but Fyfe is better and he would kept Neale in the background.

Oh boy, this is you 2hrs into this news. You need to pace yourself.

Isn't it convenient that a player who wants to go to Perth for family reasons picked only Fremantle? The rumour doesn't even mention west coast at all, which is interesting considering his reason is for family? If that was the case, why not allow us to trade him to west coast if we could get a better deal out of it?
