That is a good list and around the mark. My mates will scoff at it and say they haven't heard of half of those. I look forward to the dawning of their enlightenment.
The average supporter of other teams will only have heard of a handful of our list - Sicily, Jiath, Worpel, Wingard, Frost, Hardwick, Amon - maybe Newcombe, maybe Lewis, maybe Moore, maybe Scrimshaw. Plenty of supporters won't have heard of half of those.

The fact that Tyler signed a one year contract extension indicates he is invested in the club and he is highly regarded by the club. I understand the club has arranged for Tyler to live in a house in very close proximity to Waverley Park so he can best support his partner looking after their twins. Further it has been proposed that his partner's mother will move to Melbourne to live with the family. The club is supporting Tyler to give him the best opportunity to fulfil his potential playing in the AFL.

The club is absolutely bending over backwards for him…and then some.

I am not trying to be provocative but not sure I agree.

Looking at the HH info, finding housing is a regular club thing. Where, close to the club is a logical decision. Having a grand parent help is probably barely a consideration if a player is local, so having one come over is a tick if it was the clubs instigation, I don’t see this as remarkable though. Thinking about her, has the club supported her? Has she given up a job? Not saying the club has to do something but talking to a sought after former club wellbeing worker, they say yes.

In the AFL context, they do have a decent amount of support as it is needed, I see the HH info as a starting point.

Like I imagine most, I barely ‘know’ Tyler Brockman through club media. If some say he is level headed, extra time at home with a new child is the only decision. Hopefully times have changed where only veterans were told to return in January. Sure, there are aspects of being with teammates that are missed by Tyler not training in Melbourne. But he probably isn’t going to be near 100% if the club insists he train. Enormous trust and you would imagine commitment in 2023 when he does return(?).

2021 was a normal year? 2022 was injured for some if not all (there may have been more to it?).

If there is other things I have missed, happy to hear it.

Mods, delete if off topic.

Plenty of people didn't know or think much of puopolo, suckling, Schoenmakers, spangher, Shiels, Duryea , laňgford or even hill, smith pre 2013 but we all know how it all turned out in the end! Yea?
Puopolo .... GOOD GOD !!!!

The selflessness of Dunstall, the leap of Knights, attack on the man of Andy Collins. I saw all the greats going back to the early 70's, Puopolo is my all time favourite. If anybody talks down my hero send them to my front door so I can gun them down ....... !!!

I've never seen someone so short a stocky jump as high as he did. he was like an Italian grasshopper

When Poppy flew for a mark I called out "The Flying Dwarf". 196 games, 185 goals and 3 premierships and one of the all time great pressure forwards.
Best of all Poppy was a genuinely great person often stopping for a chat after training and at Box Hill. A testament to his character is his signing on to play with his junior club Hope Valley next year. I'm hoping to watch Poppy play in the Adelaide Footy League when I drive to SA for the Hawks game in Gather Round.
