Game Day 2022 AFL Grand Final : Geelong v Sydney

I remember it being him saying "Swans by 6 to 8" referring to goals, not points and then the panel saying "68?!" because that's what the graphic read, him trying to clarify he meant 6 to 8 goals but then saying it might as well be 68 points because he didn't see how Hawthorn could get close to Sydney.

Either way his tip was for the Swans to win easily.
The fact he was a Swans supporter as a kid had a lot to do with his tip, and also because I told him the Hawks would win by 5 goals, trust me

How about... Geelol down by 2 points in the final quarter and Omith takes a spectacular mark 40m out on a 45 degree angle. Siren goes. Buddy stands the mark.
Then Smith strolls into kick it, suddenly has a brain fart by running off the line to square up the target to benefit his left foot - Umps call play on - Swans win...!!!

One thing is for sure - irrespective of the outcome, if it's a close game the Fox Footy screaming sycophants will claim this is the greatest Grand Final that's ever taken place in the history of the World...!!!

Smith marks it 40 out on a slight angle. Siren goes Cats down 82-85. He does a shiteating smirk to Selwood, inferring it’s a sure thing. He kicks true but it fades right, cats are losers again.

It’s grand final ever and I can’t sleep.
Every time I see Luke Parker play I have nightmares about the fact we took his team mate and co-captain of the Stingrays Mitch Hallahan 2 picks before.

I know every club has there would of , could of, should of”s but look at their career records…..not even close.

Whiskey is relatively cheap, and there is otherwise plenty of good medication to help someone sleep.

There's also this:

"Luke Parker (20 disposals) – 5/10 Parker had a disappointing end to a sensational season. Like Jack, stats probably inflate his impact on the game, which was minimal. Had five clearances and pumped into attack on four occasions, so that’s perhaps a little harsh, but the entire Sydney on-ball brigade failed to live up to their billing and Parker was below his best."

Nothing surer than a few of the Cats Peacocks getting their feathers ruffled very early on. Stewart or Selwood. Can't let a team who has won 15 straight think it's in the bag already. Put doubt in the mind and leave nothing on the table. A bruise free style GF suits Geelong.

Can’t wait to see Papley’s shit eating grin as he kicks his 4th and gives Selwood a good one to the ribs on the way passed.

There seems to be more than one of our shoulda, coulda, wouldas playing in this GF.

Surely Sydney run the double here and get over the line by 1 point.

Collingwood and Geelong losing big finals by one point in consecutive weeks will be magnificent.

Conversely to that, the Swans could very easily go a big man down in defense very early on if a certain key player cops an 'accidental' whack early. If that guy doesn't play wearing a helmet from the start...

I don't think it will matter much in the result but Max Holmes is not playing today.

CATS MAKE BRUTAL CALL ON HOLMES

Geelong coach Chris Scott made the tough call to leave youngster Max Holmes out of the Grand Final yesterday afternoon.

It’s understood Holmes was able to move at 100 percent during a secret training session on Friday morning and was confident he’d recovered from a hamstring injury suffered in the preliminary final win over Brisbane.

But Scott clearly didn’t want to take any risks into the game and instead made the brutal early call following Friday’s Grand Final parade which Holmes took part in.

Either Brandan Parfitt or Mark O’Connor, who has been the medi-sub for the Cats two finals, will come into the team.

Holmes, 20, has been a key part of the Cats rise up the ladder before he went down with a hamstring problem in the third quarter of the preliminary final.

This is the right decision. Is Reid still playing? Could be the difference in the game.

Also, does the medi-sub get a medallion?

Medi sub gets the medal.

"Even though he didn't get any game time, Jordon will still be credited with playing the match, and as such he was given a premiership medal and is now considered a premiership player."

The “looking for a free” reaction from Geelong players after that rib tickler

This talk of watching replays reminds me of the story from 2006 when West Coast played Sydney for the second year in a row.

Fox were not allowed to show the 2006 GF live as 10/7 had exclusive rights. So Fox showed the replay of the 2005 GF and people tuned into the Fox coverage thinking they were watching the 06 GF live.

They couldn't believe the result was the same.
