Happy to be wrong, just noted someone said it for a year mid 2000s at WCE he had a really good year in terms of KE, mentioned number was high, but yeah, just from that :)

85% would be in the conversation of one of the greatest kicking efficiency performances for a midfielder ever recorded. A complete anomaly.

Last year there were maybe 5-6 players who performed in the low 80s and they were all played in the defensive half. Not a single inside mid got close to 80. Some players on the wing were around the high 70s mark but it's a statistic dominated by defenders.

Ginbey's kicking worries me, but he's an absolute beast on the inside and in clearances. Reminds me of Oliver.

This is where not having Pick 7 hurts.

Can afford to go for an unpolished beast of a player like Ginbey/Humphrey if we could compliment them with the speed and class of McKenzie/Tsatas.

Adolf Clark doing his best to slide to Geelong?

Watched a half of Humphrey. Really like him around the ball. Very strong tackler and has some lateral quickness e.g., a good side step. Kicking wasn't horrible.

I tell you what though, you want a class mid who can play as a forward with elite skills and touch. The young duursma kid is a freak... 2023 top 5 prospect. Even without pick 1 next year there will be some absolute gems at the top of the order. I would take him over Humphrey at our pick this year... Has a bit of James Hird about his game

Twomey ranks McKenzie at 10.

Humphrey, Clark, Ginbey and Phillipou all ahead of him.

Just for all those who are set on us taking him at 6(7).
Watched the highlights for each of the players ranked 3-10. I think any of these players will bring something to our team that we need (speed, ball use, inside work etc). Going to be happy with any of them.

Would be keen to understand from those that watch more than the highlights (like me), whether it’s pretty even in this group, and therefore whether it might come down to character, leadership etc as to how MM and Sam will separate them?

Agree. Tsatas will slide to us.
If he's the one the club wants and he doesn't slip then I'm hopeful we get creative with pick swaps on the night. See if Geelong might throw in a sweetener of some kind to move up a spot to grab Clark if that's who they want. And/or see if we can split the pick with Sydney/Eagles/GWS/Bulldogs who all hold multiple mid-late firsts and early seconds. Maybe even look at moving back in the first round and improve our hand in next years "super draft".

The players being talked about as likely at our first pick (not including Tsatas - which would be fortunate for us if he does) don't seem to be significantly better than the players expected to go in the teens or early 2nd round. For example, I'd prefer any 2 of George/Hewett/Allan/Hotton/Hollands over just one of the players being talked about at our pick.

But then I am only going off a few write ups, some highlight reels and phantom draft rankings. So maybe the gap is bigger than I appreciate.

Next years top 10 looks really good. Things can change but if the current handful of players elevate their game we'll find our game-breaker there.

👍 would’ve probably been more like 75 and an anomaly out of his career, just noted it mentioned.

Would be amazing. When the music stopped at the end of the season he was almost universally listed as top 3 outside of Ashcroft. He’s dropped down without a ball being kicked because the Giants are reaching for a tall, Essendon are reported as liking Phillipou and Gold Coast might be put off by his comments about staying in Vic. If we get him, it looks like a steal

Having the opportunity to select one of Tsatas and Wardlaw was why we were keen on getting the Eagles pick 2.

If Tsatas falls to us we’ve been absolutely kissed on the dick.

HHQ saying we're looking at Jefferson at 6. Surely not!!
Surely we’d only do that if we split the pick. Makes zero sense otherwise.
