So tommyk72 would you overlook Tsatas if that's your concern, and would MacKenzie be your guy if you want a better kick?

I do like Phillipou myself & he'd be the one I'd take depending if he's there or Tsatas or Humphrey. In saying that MacKenzie is far the best kicking out of them all.

He’s told clubs he’d like to stay in Melbourne, so that rules out Suns, the top 3 picks in the draft have now shifted, due to Giants making the play to get Cadman at 1, with Sheezel and Wardlaw rumored to headed to North.

Players don’t really get thrown up as a potential Number 1 pick without these traits that are bolded above, and Tsatas is really only a chance to slide because of some rumours of the specific needs or wants of clubs in the top 5, and even then he might still not make it passed pick 3.
Ok. On the back of that suppose that Wardlaw is the player that drops further down the rankings due to say, the concerns over his hammies. Do people think that we should pick him? I would be concerned about the hamstrings.

No way he'd get past Essendon at 4. That's who they really want.

While it seemed strange when mentioned a few pages back I’m warming to Jefferson. Too much focus on what he can’t do - and not on what he can do. Possibly the best contested mark available, reads it in flight very well, moves well with a big leap, seems clean at ground level and can kick goals. How often are better talls available?

Needs a few years (as all do) but lots of upside. Maybe he’s never a 100kg pack splitting beast, but as that 2nd/3rd tall could be absolutely elite. But also in our system with quick ball movement could be dangerous.

Obviously if a top prospect like tsatas slides then we likely grab him but the rest of the mids likely available all have their flaws (whether it’s kicking, production, consistency etc). Jefferson isn’t perfect but elite talls are hard to find.

Given North are open to trading pick three, any opportunity to trade for our F1 and get back their next years second pick which looks like around 8. Gives us two picks early in the first round of this draft then pick 8ish in next years draft as our first pick

Tsatas (if the stars and planets align), Philippou, then Mackenzie… if that ain’t MM’s order of preference imma rage post on draft night.
So if MM's preference in players isn't the same as yours he's wrong and you're right then.
Righto.

Frankly I’m not we’ll enough informed. I was more interested in hearing more about Tsatas and his ability given the comments and responses that have been made.

I would be interested in Phillipou (more conceptually than on his performance - again, I haven’t seen enough to be a good judge). I think given his age he sounds like he has the most upside.

Tsatas is 2 months older than Philipou for the record. Not sure it’s the factor that some are suggesting.

Are there any major knocks on ginbeys game?
Sounds like a very likely type and would fit in anywhere he goes immediately.

He plays very much like hugh Greenwood but with pretty insane athleticism. Good tackler and hard at it. His kicking looks salvagable but it isn't a strength. His kicking is like josh Gibson's technique but nowhere near the execution level

I would choose him on upside after tsatas and Humphrey in that order. Clark and McKenzie after that on level pegging. Not a big phillipou fan

Interesting that Jhye Clark is actually a Collingwood supporter.

Loved this reply from Copper Vickery:

Who is the most famous person that you have met?
Probably Sam Mitchell when I did some Hawthorn stuff. I shook his hand so didn’t wash it for a couple of days and let the germs sink in.

Draft him ! 🤣🤣

Even better that he's saying that as a North fan.

Also, is it just me or are none of the Academy kids fans of their Academy team?

More than a couple "Sam Mitchell" answers for the most famous person ever met question, he must have been in all the meetings!

More than that, it goes as evidence of him being our biggest draw at the moment. He's the youngest coach and his career is still relevant to the draftees and youngsters throughout the league, one of the major things making me so confident he was the right choice.

Tsatas is super confident. Believes he's the best player in it.
In fairness, so do half the other interviewees. Chad Warner is an interesting comp for him, but I can see it with how many of his disposals are inside 50s, clearances, and score involvements. Say what you will about skill and technique, but the kid gets what needs to be done. I do think if he hadn't had the niggling foot injury he would have played as a CBA mid the whole season, his ability to get his hands to the footy before anyone else is his biggest strength and he has the frame to put some muscle on over his first few seasons.

Humphrey being a cats fan is sad, I appreciate the Ziggy Alberts call though. I have a feeling that, should Tsatas not be available, Humphrey is the guy we've locked ourselves into.

Hotton seems really well-spoken, which makes sense given his family's background and the fact they currently run a sports management company. Knows how to take the interviews, what to say and how to say it.

Humphrey mentioning he'd just had an interview with Sam.

I know all players are different, but I'm hoping we draft a Victorian with our first selection. The go home factor has never been more prevalent.

2/3rds of our first round draftees from the past 3 seasons are from interstate. If we make it 3/4 then I'm worried we'll lose one sooner rather than later.

Dumb gut feel, I know.
