It's entirely possible that other clubs are aware that Munkara is emotionally invested in Essendon, and as a young indigenous player from interstate are comfortable letting him slip through to them. Twomey sounded pretty confident that he'd fall far enough to be taken as a rookie. That's more absolute than saying 'I think he'll last beyond 40'.

If clubs are thinking that, then make Dons pay by bidding atleast past 40.

Well Munkara & his manager/minder needs to know it’s a draft not a draught. You go where you’re selected - end of story

This is true, but clubs are beginning to consider player welfare and the 'go home' factor when investing in future talent.

Through interviews it could have been made abundantly clear that Munkara sees Essendon as the only club he'll thrive at as part of an elite system.

Well, all players should just nominate their top 3 choices then and be done with it.

Sam Mitchell is ruthless. He isn't about the kumbaya life. If he rates him we will take him and back ourselves in.

Looking at current draft position he is right but after trades and if Hawks have 2 30's pick, I am not so sure.

but given so many others have bolted up the order, picks who were earlier in 20's are likely to be available for hawks, then Munkara will slide down.
He's not right, he's trying to talk down Munkara. And I'm confused why we need two picks in the 30s when our pick 41 will become a late 30s pick after bid matching which can be used on Munkara. Either way, I don't think he gets past 40.

cause 41 will become 43 after 4 FS bids.
Last yrs we had our eyes on Paul Curtis and North picked him just before us. North rate him as better 1st yr player than JHF.

Every position improvement matters if we have the coin. If not, we do the best with what we have.

No, the Lions will need to use their picks in 30s to match bids for Ashcroft and Fletcher so our pick 41 will become a late 30s pick.

What I will say is this. Munkara was starting to dominate, then Dodo told him to fake a season long injury. Never played again.

Then in the 2km time trial. He's absolutely smashing the first km, then pulls out. Oh really???

He's been flipping hidden the whole year.

lets assume no one trades for lions pick, then 41 becomes 37 ( as 34,35,36 & 38 gets used up) Then insert 4 FS picks(Ashcroft, Fletcher, Davey, Max M for crows) before 37 gets hit.. moves to 41.

if some one had traded for one of the lions picks. then move one more step back and so on.

If any young draftee already has welfare issues before they are drafted, then the AFL need to step in and stop them from being drafted in the first place!
