I reckon Mackenzie has gone from the player that most here preferred over Clark, to barely being mentioned once per page. This over the space of 10 days, without any of them kicking a ball.

I've not checked his height, but I'd be pretty happy if we engineered a trade that landed us a pick that gets Mackenzie & say Pick 19 from GWS.

Clark started being linked to us is why. So we started seeing the positives.

The draft can't come quick enough. Reality is most of us are going off highlights or what we've read (Davo-27 excluded!).

I'm comfortable the club knows what it's doing, last year was a great draft.

We're going to get a good mid at our pick. And mostly everyone is going to say no brainer!

It ebbs and flows with performances. Mackenzie wasn't really considered at all until he had one stand out game, and then the board fawned over him for a while and it died out as we returned a bit more to the context of full seasons from players.

Quite perplexed how more people haven’t voted for Ginbey considering the option to select multiple players.
Especially considering he has 189 of the most important, elite qualities any draftee could ever have! ;)

Honestly though, Ginbey isn't appealing to most people because there was no hype for him on this board prior - Tsatas is the exciting slider, Phillipou is the young upside pick with all that contentious confidence and MacKenzie is the Hawks supporter.

That’s way overs.

I’d expect that if Saints really want Tsatas they offer their future 1st and Pick 9.

They seem to be the side trying hardest to get up the order, along with Melbourne.
North has Port's F1 and that would be just under for pick 6 too.

I would say Port f1 + swap of North f1 with ours is just right. But not having a pick in top 20 also doesn't sit right with me.

Man's body playing against boys.

Likely to start his career as a back flanker.

Does he posses legitimate footy weapons outside of his athleticism?

There are some question marks for me personally. I think he's a natural fit for other clubs but not necessarily ours.

The difference between Tsatas and Mackenzie isn't greater than a F2. Especially when Mackenzie is the best kick in the top ten after Sheezle.

In the biggest game of the year Tsatas was shanking them all over, whilst Mackenzie had some lovely kicks to advantage.
Go watch oakleigh vs sandy in one of the last rounds. Tsatas brained the Ashcroft and mackenzie duo

injuries to key planks could get us. wont be the end of the world tho
Yes one of the factors the main factor being fatigue. Younger players fatigue by round 15. This with management in season. the AFL season is long and hard and only gets worse heading into the winter months where you have a lot more physical interaction

Ginbey would be a very Hawthorn pick up.

Random interstate athletic halfback flanker who might be able to progress in the middle. Sounds familiar.

I was going to until I learnt that this is not his sister. :D

Man’s body? He looks like an under developed Clayton Oliver.

Same weight as Newcombe. Only 4cm taller. He's built far stronger than the majority of his peers.

I'd like him if we had a pick around 15 or if he slipped to 24. I feel as though banking on his potential if far too risky at pick 6. That might explain why people aren't voting for him.

He looks like he could pack on a whole lot more muscle too, which I think is SYL's point.

Has the Club shown any interest in Ginbey?
Interest shown means little.

DGB:
You were predicted to be picked up early in the draft. Did you have any idea where you were going to go?

No I didn’t. I had spoken to Sydney quite a bit, and Gold Coast had said to me if I got to them they wouldn’t let me slide by. I was surprised initially when Hawthorn picked me up. I had spoken to them a couple of times but didn’t actually think they were all that interested in me.

Where do watchers rank last years group in comparison to this years, based purely on NAB/champs form?
Not really a watcher but do keep track of the stats where I can. Doesn't appear to have the depth of last year, you won't find anyone near the quality of MacDonald or Sonsie slipping into the 20s IMO.

A worthwhile listen, a lot said about Phillipou and Tsatas

Reminds me of Will Gould mk2. At least Ginbey has a tank though and has proved he can play in the guts.

As much as I like Sheezel I think looking back Rachele is the better prospect of the two. Just has so much more power than Sheezel and a player I am really bullish on.

One is going to go #2 and the other went at #6.

The top end looks a lot better last year than this year as well. It's why I laugh at how North fan's celebrate the JHF trade. They've essentially given up the #1 pick in 2021 and the #1 pick for 2023 for #2 and #3 in a weaker draft.
