So... what if GWS don't take Cadman

Haven't really had a lot of time to view the players around our pick but did a quick viewing of a few of the names floated here and Pou looked to be the best from the highlights I saw.
Obviously haven't seen any full games and highlights are not a great judgement but for cleanness and skill he seemed to be the best of the bunch.

Will try and have a better look but there's not really a bad choice from what we've seen.

Clarke was a surprise, highlights showed him missing a lot of easy targets but maybe that was just an off game?

North take him. Assuming GWS take one of Wardlaw/Sheezel/Tsatas nothing really changes for us. Essendon take either Wardlaw or Sheezel if they get to them, if it's Tsatas that's there then we're in the same position we are now. If GWS take someone other than those four, then we start to get really interesting but I can't see them reaching for Clark, Phillipou, Humphrey, or any of the others with Pick 1.

If we’re looking for a bid bodied mid szybkowski could be the guy with our 2nd. 186cm 86kgs already and had a pretty decent season and champs. Loves the tough stuff, hard worker, decent skills, moves okay (but won’t get any slower given already carries weight). Arguably competing with some current mids but in a lot of ways I’d rather add a pure inside mid than more hff/flanker types.

I think the inference was north may not take him

I'll make this easy.

If GWS don't take Cadman, North should.
If North don't take Cadman, Essendon should.
If Essendon don't take Cadman, Gold Coast should.
If Gold Coast don't take Cadman, Dingley will be delayed for a decade while we pay out the bribes.

On another note, has anyone heard whether we've talked with Tsatas? A bit odd if we haven't but I guess we do like playing mind games. Just don't talk to the kid, then draft him out of the blue like DGB and CMac in the last few drafts.

We have multiple times.

Not really a watcher but do keep track of the stats where I can. Doesn't appear to have the depth of last year, you won't find anyone near the quality of MacDonald or Sonsie slipping into the 20s IMO.

Yeah on face value is seems shallower compared to last year.

I'm interested to see how this top ten stacks up to last years though. How would the watchers compare, based purely on the NAB and Champs form.

As much as I like Sheezel I think looking back Rachele is the better prospect of the two. Just has so much more power than Sheezel and a player I am really bullish on.

One is going to go #2 and the other went at #6.

The top end looks a lot better last year than this year as well. It's why I laugh at how North fan's celebrate the JHF trade. They've essentially given up the #1 pick in 2021 and the #1 pick for 2023 for #2 and #3 in a weaker draft.

Not sure I agree, Sheezel looks like the better prospect for mine. I think he has more potential to become a midfielder out of the two.

Where can I find it? Was he actually hitting up targets? That's really my only concern with him.
Taking territory and winning clearances. Nab league app or AFL on demand. It was the last round of the season. Check out Q1 at least. You will see the tsatas potential

IOW we're linked to 5 players in the top 10.
No one has any idea who we're taking.

And the only reason we are not linked to three more is they are almost guaranteed to be gone by our pick (Cadman, Sheezel and Wardlaw) - so woud be eight if not for belief that know GWS and Norths picks! And they didn't mention McKenzie

I have access to the full testing data.

There’s not much between them. Sheezel didn’t test at the combine and some of Rachele’s final testing was limited.

Sheezel has one of the best engines in this draft (sub 6 minute 2km) at a level comparable to Oli Hollands. He’s also got elite agility and would have ranked in the top handful in the agility test for the last few years.

Rachele has an excellent vertical and also quite a good engine.

Rachele is slightly quicker over his 5/10m splits, but less agile (still very good agility though, Sheezels is elite however)

Both averaged abnormally large disposal amounts for stay at home medium forwards. Sheezel is 5.6cm taller than Rachele and his aerially ability for his size stands out on paper there.

Quite comparable really. Worth saying Sheezels one game in the midfield for the Dragons he amassed 37 touches.

Both of their tanks are overlooked in discussions, they get up and down the ground ALOT l, hence their disposal numbers for “small” forwards.

Sheezel broke the score involvements record in the NAB league this year, or I should say, shattered that record.

Rachele only got 4 games in and averaged 2.8 goals per game vs Sheezels 2.6 goals per game across his 14.

Both will be top liners, I think the conversation is “would have Rachele gone in the top 3/4 had he had the full season” (he was the u16 carnival MVP remember) rather than “Rachele went at pick 6 and is similar to Sheezel so this draft is by extension weaker”

Just heard Tsatsas on SEN in the car. He would love to become a Bomber and Scott is visiting his house tonight. Russell asked him how he said the other week on preferring to remain in Melbourne. He replied with a straight bat by saying that it’s a national comp, he would go anywhere to play ……. however he planted the seed and couldn’t see his nose on radio!

He speaks well and seems like a smart young lad.
