I think that's top heavy in the forward line, and that's even before you've got Treacy on the bench.
I'd be swapping out Treacy for Erasmus in that team (assuming Mundy/Walters out as stated).

Noddy needs some time to prove he can back to the form he was showing pre-injury, it's what his second year?

In terms of addressing the premise, I think Mundy and Walters both offer things to the team, they just aren't at the peak of what they were.

Agree. Way too tall. Henry for Treacy even. Erasmus sub.

Best 22 Round 1 2024

Walker Logue Ryan
Clark Cox Young
Chapman AB NOD
Frederick Treacy Switta
Schultz Amiss Jackson

Darcy Serong Brodie

Western Erasmus Johnson Henry

Big cull of the senior players w/heavy youth bias but I was curious to see what we might look like with a few more senior departures and came up with this. Thoughts?

Pearce is contracted until the end of 2025. It would be a pretty big fall from grace if he wasn't played in the last 2 years of his contract. Aish will only be 28 and still in the team - you'd imagine Fyfe to still be there too, barring serious injury.
Apart from that it looks pretty good as I don't reckon Acres, tabs, lobb, walters or colyer will be there. Absolutely critical that Treacy and Amiss become good forwards and good god do we need Zurhaar.

Best 22 for finals# Assuming all are fit and firing (which will never happen but anyway).
I might have rose coloured glasses but it's a pretty good team on every line.

Ryan. Pearce. Walker.
Young Cox. Clark
Noddy Brodie Aish.
Fyfe Lobb Walters.
Shultz Tabs Switta.

Darcy Serong Brayshaw.

Chappy, Logue, Mundy, Freddy.

Swap Lobb with Jackson and Mundy for Erasmus/Johnson and that’s our rnd 1 team for next year. IMO we’ll re-sign Logue

Assuming Erasmus and Johnson line up round 1 (which I think they will) it's a pretty hard team to break into.
There is a midfield spot open for Mundy, but then if Logue stays I'm not sure who else comes out.

I certainly hope that after one more full season the best 22 isn't that different than the one that got 15 1/2 wins this year.

Pearce, Tabs and Fyfe all leaving in 1 season would absolutely set us back massively. We aren't making mass changes to the list now the window is open

Looks more like rnd 1 2026 to me!

It was more an exercise to illustrate the quality of our youth than a serious prediction tbf
I agree with you, we have the pieces in place to be competitive for the next 4 years with minimal changes, by 2026 Aish, Ryan and Schultz will be our oldest players and you’d think in 4 drafts we’d have ample opportunity to bring in replacements for their positions. The rest of the players will be in their prime 24-28yo bracket

It's been an incredible achievement from our list management team.

If the trade rumours are true, we lose Acres, Lobb, Logue from the team above that won on the weekend, while Mundy retires. The obvious replacements are Fyfe, Tabs, Jackson (if he makes the move), Erasmus.

We then prob lose Sturt/Meek/Tucker to trades (rumour says they'll want to go elsewhere) while Hamling/Blakeley/Wilson/Colyer retire.

Leaves the likes of Henry, Western, Worner, Banfield, Kuek, Benning, Treacy, Johnson, Hughes as depth. That's an unreal situation to find ourselves in next year with a unch of trades/daft picks up our sleeve.
