Matty Boyd and Dale Morris though - two blokes currently in the grab of this century for us.
The 2016 team had a lot more grit than our current one (any team with Picken in it would really)
And biggs playing out of his skinAnd Clay. Sigh.
To me this is what our team misses the most atm..... Bring back some mongrel!!Matty Boyd and Dale Morris though - two blokes currently in the grab of this century for us.

Then consider our premiership defence:Total agree with the past few posts. Yes you want to absolutely hit your top picks but extracting value further down the draft, PSD, rookie etc... is where its at. Yes Dangerflog & Cameron helped the Cats greatly, but you look at the absolute home runs they hit with the following:
Jack Henry - rookie draft
Tom Stewart - pick 40
Jake Kolodjashnij - pick 41
Mark Blicavs - rookie draft
Mark O'Connor - B rookie
Brad Close - rookie draft
Tyson Stengle - delisted free agent
Tom Atkins - rookie draft
Gryan Miers - pick 57
Zach Guthrie - rookie draft
That's 10 of their 23 premiership players picked up for relatively nothing.
Konstanty may be around at our second pick. Tackling machine, averaged around 6 per game this year.Looks like we may miss out on Clarke
foxfooty.com.au understands the Giants have put ample work into Sandringham Dragon Charlie Clarke as they’re looking to add a small forward-midfield talent to their list.
More news about our Draft picks
The Western Bulldogs are expected to use three selections at the national draft. They hold their natural first-rounder (Pick 11), but have traded in attractive second-round and third-round selections – Pick 21 (attached to the Giants) and Pick 39 (attached to North Melbourne) – that rival clubs could be eyeing off.

Wing. Given our rumoured interest in Hollands as well, sounds like we'd love to grab an outside runner with a good tank this year. I wonder if Hotton is on our radar too?I've seen Binns linked to dogs a fair bit. What sort of player is he?
Makes a mockery of our short-sited decision to offer Rookie spots to Footscray players. Need to look at all options not just what's under your nose.Total agree with the past few posts. Hard running winger would definitely fill a need particularly now with Hunter departing. Would be ready to go Rnd 1 with a good preseasonI've seen Binns linked to dogs a fair bit. What sort of player is he?

Who are the best kicks in the draft that would be available with our first pick?
Having someone spearing the ball into our forward 50 would help rather than rainmaker kicks all the time.
Well that’s convinced me one of hollands or philipou with our first pick would slot in nicelyHollands, Burgiel, Philipou, MacKenzie, Busslinger*; are probably the better kicks.
Hotton, George, Hewett; more burst mids than great kicks.
*Busslinger has a good kick but plays loose man in defence, so rarely gets pressured.
That makes sense for both the Dons and the Saints. Though I do question the Saints constantly pissing away their draft picks and weakening their hands, when they have so many holes on the list. Even just moving up 4 or 5 places would cost a bit asset wise.Hollands should be the 1 to take imo. I doubt Busslinger, Phillipou & Mackenzie last until dogs get to pick. I wonder though if dogs will rate George higher though. George at 11 and Konstanty at 21 would be pretty good.
Todays rumors are dons want phillipou. If they think they can get him later in the top 10 they'll trade down to get him. Lyons wants speed so a trade for dons pick 4 would be what saints are probably willing to do. They'll want Tsatas and try and get their fans excited.
