For a while there Neeld's Melbourne was genuinely VFL level I reckon.

Remember Mark Neeld Melbourne? Or us when the likes of Jay Lever was getting a gig for us about 8 or 9 years ago? We were not a particularly good side back then.

I haven't seen a side get routinely smashed like North have. They are about 5% away from the lowest ever percentage in a season. I went through their fixture so far and it's been horrible reading. Getting pumped by 8-10 goals regularly.

It's a rough time to be bottoming out with the rest of the comp so even. Have a gander at the Melbourne team under Neeld though. They got a 3 point win over the Dogs and beat GWS as a 2nd year expansion club, but check some of those losses.

That is shocking. 54.1% and some of those losses are ****ed. North are 52.6% now.

David Noble needs to go to the Mark Neeld school of coaching and communication to bump that percentage up a few percent.

Miller has been getting molested all game, a bit like Steele and Cripps get. Just because they're tough, contested players doesn't mean the high contact, holds and general scragging they work through shouldn't be paid as free kicks. Some players don't flop around or throw their heads, it's almost like they get punished for it as well.

I remember cracking the shits in round one saying that our defence made Ginnivan look like a mini Plugger. Looks like it wasn't one off. He's turned out to be a very good forward.

Casboult is still Casboult. Great mark, can hoof the ball and a decent snap for goal from a mark. Not much going on upstairs, seems to have the one good effort in a play, can't kick for drop punt goals closer than 40 metres out.
