Pretty direct. That’s beyond embarrassing …

“I think Jones had four or five possessions in half a game, in the first half. You can’t run around in the midfield and only have a handful of touches.”
He is out of contract at the end of the year aswell. Better pull his finger out

Is it really Jones' fault though? He missed the first two months of football, then had 9 kicks and 2 tackles in the reserves and that was enough to step up, apparently. First senior match this year, half his possessions were clangers. Little confidence.

Mismanaged IMO. Not the first example. But apart from this season, he's still been inconsistent and shouldn't have prime position in the midfield.

And a good chance we rush in Hanna's and Bytel this week for WC

Wonder if he challenged Jones during the quarter breaks to do better?

I wonder if he told the players 11 tackles in a half isn’t acceptable and to make sure they work harder.

Any half decent coach would actively seek out the players not performing and challenge them to do better in the next quarter.

Impossible to know, but I doubt he did any of this.

Maybe he can't push Jones too hard due to his time out earlier this year ?

Your having a laugh surely.

This has to be a contender for dumbest post of the year.

I’m sure he did refer to their effort…or noticeable lack of.

Jones had 4 touches to half time… finished with 18, which is about his average - so I’m glad it was called out and wasn’t fobbed off with “he finished with 18”

We had 11 tackles to half time and Steele/crouch had 6 between them.. or half of the entire side - I’m sure all of this is being raised. Whether they’re prepared to do anything about it is another thing.

You’re right, who am I to question the coaches fantastic impact on the team
Well you got that right. If you believe the head and assistant coaches don't give feedback to players in area's they are down in at the qtr and half-time breaks, you really shouldn't comment on football at all.

Sounds like the coaches have lost the players, then. Given nothing changed for 3 quarters. Instructions ignored, or not given.

thats a fair comment if they are talking to the players why are they not following instructions then

It took until Ben Long coming on for a single player to show some dare. Why is he the only one that played like he wanted to win?

It took us until near the end of the 3rd quarter to kick our 3rd goal. Something isn’t working

who do we want to win here to help us with finals?
Essendon doing us a solid.
How sad we are ( as a team.)
Relying on other teams to help us when we can’t even help ourselves.

I‘ve reconciled myself a while ago to the fact that there is no way we play finals…and if, by the slightest miracle we do, we’ll last one game.

This is so unlike my usual optimistic self, it’s exhibit #1 of what this club/team can do to a person.

😢
