The confirmed shoulder dislocation for Lycett makes his performance against 2 high quality talls last night even more admirable IMHO. His shoulder issues since 2017 are well known. Going down with a re-occurence last night is horrible for him and the club.

Fancy going into that game last night with only one ruckman/recognised tall. Exposed in the backline and in the centre as a result. Max Gawn dominated as a result - a ball magnet.

WTF was Kenny thinking.

Admirable? Wow

The guy has been absolutely smashed in every game so far this year and last night he gave up. No structural damage. He gave up. Its not opion, it happened. He should never wear a Port jumper again, Power or Magpies.

Nothing obvious clearly, would have had ecg monitor, echo of heart, bloods done. Looks like its a watch and see if it happens again. Might be available for Carlton I reckon.

Does anyone trust Ken not to pick Finlayson as #1 ruck ahead if Hayes if Lycett is unavailable?

I would sooner he tried Finlayson than he went in with Todd Marshall as our No1 ruck. Finlayson may be a poor choice but it is not the worst option. Kenny will probably have Jackson Trengove in the back of his mind and think what worked with Jacko should also work with Finlayson.

Hayes has to come in but we know Ken does some strange things.

Wow, how did Roberton get an advance dose of the COVID vaccine way back in 2018? It's a PLANdemic, wake up sheeple!
If I recall correctly, the AFL had a random spate of heart related issues together that year? Jeremy McGovern I'm pretty sure left a game with a high heart rate etc. Years before that we had Nathan Thompson I think his name was from north who had some heart condition where it's go nuts randomly.

PORT Adelaide Brownlow medallist Ollie Wines won't play in Sunday's MCG clash with Carlton but says he feels "100 per cent fine" after a health scare last Thursday during the game against Melbourne.

Just thought I'd comment on Ollies condition based on my recent experiences here in Dubai.
Obviously I'm far away from being an elite athlete (more like an all-round non-athlete) but there are some similarities.

In late November i had a bit of a cough and cold with flu type symptoms.
Obviously got checked for Covid and was negative.
The cough was annoying and they prescribed a fairly strong suppressant.
Anyway few days later cough was gone, felt fine, back to normal.
Hopped out of bed on a Saturday morning, went to have a shower, I vaguely remember feeling a bit sleepy and thinking I should sit down.
Next thing I know my wife is yelling at me to wake up and screaming for my son to call the ambulance.
Apparently I had passed out, woke up and passed out again.
Anyway ambulance arrived, heart beat was erratic etc but settled as they monitored me.
Went for for a nice ride to ICU overnight.
Did all the tests as mentioned above - nothing abnormal.
Been prescribed with Beta Blockers and an Anti Coagulant. After further visits still no apparent issues.
Have another follow up next month and hopefully off meds.

I've had triple Pfizer, never had Covid, the checked for myocarditis etc but nothing there.
Basically just a super scary experience and no definite cause.

Doctors are saying most likely an effect from the virus I had or a reaction to the cough medication.

I suspect Ollie will be something similar and they may never really know for sure what caused it.

Defender Trent McKenzie will also miss the game after he had an arthroscopic clean-out of loose bodies in his left knee on Monday. The injury was the result of a direct knock to his knee in the Round 3 Showdown, and saw him withdraw just before the game against the Demons last Thursday. A timeline for his return will become clearer over the next week or so.

Experienced forward Robbie Gray is a chance to return to the field after missing the last three games.

Injury list
Aliir Aliir – ankle (assess)
Charlie Dixon – ankle (TBC)
Xavier Duursma – neck/shoulder (assess)
Orazio Fantasia – knee (5-7 weeks)
Scott Lycett – shoulder (assess)
Trent McKenzie – knee (TBC)
Josh Sinn – groin (3-4 weeks)
Ollie Wines – heart (TBC)

Viruses definitely affect the heart which is why it’s great that both the hospital and Ollie have said it has nothing to do with the vaccine. Definitely an elite athlete thing. Glad you’re feeling better, heart stuff is scary especially far from home.
