Amartey has a spot soon, Reid is perennially injured and Buddy hasn't got long left

Mcdonald is from WA so thats why he gets brought up more but unfortunately he won't either

Swans are bloody lucky that Buddy has stayed good for so long, lets these others develop underneath him, they're gonna be good for a long time
McDonald's dad was on the radio last weekend saying Buddy spends some time with Logan outside the footy club. Off field and on field asset.

Fyfe is literally one of the all time greats of the sport. A shitty tribunal decision in 2014 denied him being a 3 time Brownlow medalist.
Weird example to use to make your point.
We have overpaid literally dozens of spuds over the years and Fyfe certainly isn’t one of them.
A four year old came up to me today and asked me if he could pat my dog. "What's his name?" he asked. When I told him my dog's name is 'Nat Fyfe', his face beamed and he looked at his dad and said, "That's the name of our leader dad." (the kid was wearing a Freo sweatshirt). I hate the disrespect this guy cops, and why some of us feel the need to defend him. This four year old knows how important Fyfe is to Freo and its brand, and clearly shows him the respect he deserves :)

Son went to school with him - he said Logan adores Buddy too much to leave, and also said Buddy spends a lot of time with him. Have met the kid myself, and he's very humble. I feel gutted for him not getting a game tomorrow, so hope he's at least named as the sub.

Still might get a game. Reid's got to be in doubt.

Really? That sounds complicated with the way clubs need to have their TPPs approved by the AFL.
Kind of feel like there's no better options. We're going to have to give Amiss development games to get him up to 25 games at the end of next season.

Jackson together with Darcy are going to take one full time forward position - although there's been a little indication that Fremantle have talked about other midfield roles for Jackson. Darcy isn't going to go the bench much when Jackson can do 50% of the ruckwork.

I don't know whether that can be Lobb's replacement - but the mix around them is going to have to be worked out.

Think Lobb can be covered. Without Lobb we're going to miss that exceptional contested mark and that long range kicking for goal - but he's only turned that on once every 4-5 games (in his best season) - the other times when he's been good, he's just played his role. And you'll get a more competitive ruckman.

You only need Taberner or Amiss alongside Jackson/Darcy, and when its Jackson there you can fit all 3 in the forward 50m - but a good 3rd mobile midsize leading and marking forward would be handy - like if Fyfe or Sturt can stand up. We obviously still think there's a role for Banfield because we've signed him up.

Our small forwards are still going to need to keep improving for us to have a dangerous attack. Schultz, Switkowski, Frederick, Walters but it needs adding to. Kuek seems more of a mid/small forward to me too, one that can go up the ground and looks good in transition - although there's no indication yet if he'll still be on our list next year.
You make a great point about Kuek.

People look at height and fail to look at players are good at.

The club needs to improve our forward line and Kuek will given a pre season to show something.

Not looking forward to dealing with Melbourne after the Hogan trade. I feel like this could get ugly for a few days. I really hope we reem them.

We need to be ok with him to walk psd to Eagles. If we’re ok with that, we can be more aggressive at the trade table.

Agreed. We can have a really good draft hand with the players leaving.

Pick 13 and F2 is about pick 6. I would leave that there until the last day of trade

No I think it will be 2 first rounders..maybe a later one coming back to us. Go to them with that one on day 1 and that’s the final offer.

The Lobb trade is the one we can have the enjoy of doing last minute, with the hope of getting as much as we can.

Again though. We must do our best to get the Jackson trade done first as they will want what we get for the Logue or Lobb trade sprinkled on.

If we publicly state we won’t do any deals until the Transaction of Jackson is complete, you’ll get Bulldogs, North and possibly Hawks piling on pressure to Dees to get the Jackson trade done.

Won’t be any pressure on us as we are kinda the villains of trade week.

You don’t go with your “final offer” on day one…

That only sets the precedent that we may go higher.

Pick 13 and a Future 2nd is a good starting point IMO. Any less than that and we’re taking the piss but deep down we know we’d have to go higher than that.

Just go first and final and no higher.

It is crucial we get it done before we receive an influx of 2nd and 3rd rounders.

There is nothing wrong with cutting the bs and going with a first and final and stick by it. Dees won’t want him going PSD.

Jackson selected both WA clubs kinda helps us in a way as Dees won’t want him going PSD for nothing.

I just can’t see it playing out like that. It’s just not how trade period has ever worked.

Whatever we offer Melbourne on day one short of stupid overs will be rejected. There’s nothing surer.

Can you agree though it’s important to get it done before the influx of picks we’ll receive from the Meeks, Lobbs and Logues of the world. Pretty confident all of them will net us a 2nd rounder each.
