We need to stop speculating about Jackson. He's given no indication of leaving or staying in Melbourne. Trade talk is ridiculously premature.

It's only week 8 - I'm sick if hearing about it!
Where's the fun in that?
In years past it was the most interesting part of the board by week 8.

I've always been big on Darcy Cameron as the cheaper stop gap for Lobb leaving to reduce the damage.
Out of contract at the end of the year too.

It’s going to be difficult this year due to our rise up the ladder.
But our NGA players could really help in improving our chances of
attaining talent.
Road to the draft is back on you tube, Chase Bourne looks like a good prospect
to improve our small/medium forwards.
Josh Draper, I can see other clubs scratching their heads on missing Walker.
Compared to WC we have really supported, worked on growing the game for
everyone, not just private school kids.

Based on zero intel and just making up a trade rumour.

Is Colin Young managing both Lobb and English?

It’s kind of incumbent on Saints to make this deal as Lobb is in contract…

Lobb -> Saints
Saints first round (12-16ish) -> Dogs
English -> Freo

English as a fwd/ruck is in right age bracket for us 24yo (207cm). In my mind this works.

Essentially For Freo would you trade Lobb for English?imo yes I would.

Dogs have Darcy coming through as well could easily top up with a mature age ruckman and go to draft with a pick 12-15.
You are dreaming if you think this scenario is realistic

IF Lobb does leave

+

IF we don't get a genuine forward/ruck replacement

I would;

Take the draft capital and bring in another developing replacement (Northam, Keeler, Derksen).

+

Play Treacy as a pinch hitting forward/ruck.

Lol, I'd recommend avoiding the list management thread if you don't want to see wild speculation about WA-born players coming home.

Quite frankly, replacing Lobb with Derksen/Strom/Benning is fanciful stuff. There are two very good WA forward/rucks out of contract and we are in a flag window finally. I’ve yet to hear anything from anywhere suggesting Jackson wants to be the first ruck and if he wants to head home, earning 700-800k a year as a fwd/ruck seems no different to me then earning 700-800k as the ruck.

We should absolutely be chasing English and Jackson to replace Lobb.

Throw some money at Rowan Marshall? OOC & attracting interest.

Send Lobb & extra in the other direction

English would be a great get. He’s been in good form this year pre-injury. Probably Eagles bound though considering they have two early second rounders.

Yer that makes sense. Maybe rename it "players we don't have but wish we did on our list management".

Surely you can see the obvious oxymoron in your comment 🤦‍♂️

I'm tired of this issue not being taken seriously on this board. If Heppell has finally deigned to join us we should roll out the red carpet. He is the final piece of the puzzle.
At this stage, he’s the piece left over that somehow got into the box of a brand new puzzle…

Even if Marshall doesn't want to come here him leaving will result in a big structural hole for St Kilda. If Lobb is on their radar, get your squeezers ready
