There are persistent rumours that Geelong players find themselves partners in establishments or property for $1. I don't know how accurate that is, that rumour also featured with Fremantle by the way in case people think I'm going after other clubs for this and ignoring our own.

Who did Brad Hill use to build his house in Perth?

Hardly the same thing. Hawkins is royalty down there. He would already be setup for life & there would be any number of property developers or other well placed businesses that would have ways of making sure he’s well taken care of off the books. Plus he’s 34. He would have had way fatter contracts previously.

Those guys are like the Eagles, their own little mafia that has been gaming the system for years to look after players.

Oh and the Cats got him for pick 44 as F/S when he was considered the best KPF in the land for his age.

Fair, even competition? Sure it is. I look forward to the AFL setting up Clarko to get North back to the top in 3 years. Sydney to keep getting a couple of free top 10 players every year & the expansion clubs given extra zone concessions.

Word!
Hawkins wouldn't have to pay for anything in Geelong

The president. You know that.

So WTF are you bringing up Geelong players and their "preferential treatment"?

Along with not grasping the agent agreement and this conspiracy theory, you're having a bit of a bad day...

Because previously people were talking about Hawkins being paid below league average and you'll also notice that I mentioned Fremantle as well.

It's not a lot to scroll up to see, even one handed.

I don’t rate his character as good fit.
I don’t rate his footballing ability.
I didn’t rate him in his draft year and he’s done nothing since to prove me wrong.
And unless GC are salary dumping him like they did with Brodie, which surely they wouldn’t do that after last year, then he’ll be over priced.

Let him show something more in the last year of his contract and then grab him next trade season.
Can’t say I know him enough to rate his character.
He’s a winger that was moved this season to play someone else.

He’s already back in Perth training think that’s a great sign

Hawkins wants another flag, probably happy to take unders, is the son of a Geelong great and has been in the system for over a decade.

That could also factor into his decision to take less.

Liam Jones now going to Bulldogs as a free agent.

FDH 16...
More like DH16.
