The better AFL comparison for Fowler is McDonald-Tipungwuti. Tipingwuti is shorter than Fowler at 171cm/77kg and i'd have in a heart beat. He is also a player that without the drug saga creating opportunities is unlikely to have made an AFL list. Fowler is similarly quick and skillful. Where they differ is defensively. If Fowler can add defensive pressure to his game (when the opposition has possession of the ball) he's worth considering

Tippa is also built like a condom stuffed with walnuts, he is built. Fowler is a rake.

COLLINGWOOD BACK IN MID-SEASON MIX

COLLINGWOOD is set to be active in this year's NAB AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft after the season-ending injury to forward recruit Nathan Kreuger.

Kreuger required shoulder surgery after his Anzac Day injury against Essendon, with the former Cats forward likely to miss the rest of the season.

It means he can be placed on the inactive list, which would allow the Pies to open a pick for the mid-season draft, which is set for Wednesday, June 1.

Collingwood was active in last year's mid-season intake, grabbing Ash Johnson and Aiden Begg, with the athletic Begg making an impressive AFL debut last week against Gold Coast in the ruck.

Bianco, T. Brown and C. Brown are among those who have played forward for us this year. There's room for a small forward if we want to go there. It's not our biggest list need but its there and an area we can improve. Now i'm not saying Fowlers the guy but I wouldn't rule him out based on his height which is the argument you made.

Tipungwuti is a sledgehammer, he scares oppo forwards more than McReery does and that’s largely due to the fact that despite his height he’s built like a wrecking ball. Even if Fowler added that defensive element to his game he’s never getting to that level, and he’s still unlikely to be getting games when an Elliott/Ginnivan/McCreery combo is fit and available.

This is the problem with comparisons. No two players are the same. I didn't mean to say Fowler needs to be as good as Tipungwuti defensively. However he is an example of a guy smaller than Fowler who has made it in that role at a height shorter than Fowler. I think if Fowler makes himself relevant defensively he'd be in the conversation to get picked up. That doesn't mean I expect him to be as good as Tipungwuti.

He’s still on the list isn’t he? And we need kpd depth so bring him back now.
No thanks - more likely to get a better and faster (in terms of readiness to play) return from a defender in the MSD (don't give me the taco girl why cant we do both GIF).

On a side note, that headline is pox. His quote was "I'd probably love to come back". A bit different.
