Lippa is a fine pick. He'll be at most of our centre bounces. He'll average around 100, just don't know what it'll be. Could be 94, could be 103. Doubt he goes over 105. I'd take him if Berry wasn't around, prefer him at a much cheaper price. Also Caldwell at a cheaper price, who is set for bulk midfield time, also appeals (Berry and Caldwell are also cheap enough to take as stepping stones; Lippa and Rowell as genuine mid pricers would really need to be keepers)

Lippa is one of, if not, the best kicks inside 50 in the comp. His DE will help him each week.
I don't have him in my side but the kid can play. Slow but has an enormous tank, I imagine the MCG suits him well

Why do you think Ridley and Short's average jumps up by 10 or so?

Short has Vlastuin taking a lot of kick-ins. Baker, Stack, Rioli, Mansell and Ralphsmith all playing back and getting a lot of the ball.
Ridley has Heppell, Hind, Redman and now McGrath to contend with down back.

Anyway no point arguing, you can make a case for and against any player. Back your gut mate

I think the obvious upside in Shorts scoring is the Houli factor. There was a noticeable difference in Shorts scoring when Houli was in the team vs when he wasn’t. From memory he averaged 95 with Houli in the team and 105 without so no Houli definitely helps his scoring and there’s no reason why he can’t maintain that 105 average.

As for Ridley, only 98 average last season but that was including his concussion game as well as the games he was forced to play lockdown role and scored poorly as he wasn’t able to play his natural loose man intercept game. Essendon did say during the pre season they want Ridley to play that loose defender role so if he’s allowed to play his game to his strengths and just intercept everything I think he goes 105 easily. He went bananas early last season if you recall and was probably going to end up D1 if it wasn’t for his concussion game.

Both do probably have to share kick ins but Ridley did have the most kick ins in the scratch match and Short had the second most (1 less than Vlaustin) in his.

Agreed though mate you can make a case for and against any player, at the end of the day all 3 will most likely end up Top 6 defenders anyway.

I have faith, he needs to do something cause he's been average his whole career. Kick Ins and GC want to move the ball quickly will help him

Contract year too and he's looking at a pay cut. Big season and maybe he gets a bit extra.
