I don't think we choked this week. We were trying hard in the last few minutes but couldn't pierce the Pies lift in intensity. Durds kick in the heat of the moment was unfortunate but our tally of 6 minors in a row were more costly.

Agree it’s heartbreaking, it will sting for a while, it was a mighty effort by the boys especially after last weeks game against Demons it was always a possibility that they would fade in the last quarter, and not forgetting Walsh, Hewett and Kennedy not playing too.

So... we've exceeded expectations by a bit, just missed the finals. Were in the 8 all year and only slipped out at the depth. First year with a new coach and people were expecting us to go all the way. I said 8-10th place finish, so I'm not at all surprised to see us finish 9th.

It's been a long year... we've never fielded a full strength side from round 1 and we've still managed to only just miss finals.

Don't know about you lot, but I'm expecting a lot more next year!

Interesting watching that with two former QAFL umpires in my living room (my partner's Dad and his umpiring mate) who criticized the umpiring more than I did.

The AFL made their decision that we weren't making finals when Townsend got Cripps off. It's why Stevic was shifted onto our game and why we got Meredith today. The AFL's two Mr Fix It's back-to-back.

to those blaming Durdin...yep it was not the best call to kick to the pocket, but clearly he thaough H was going to double back on the lead.

Smart play was kick it as far as you can to try and force a score...but these decisions are made in split seconds with best intentions.

I'd be looking at some of the bigger 'star's' and their output/effort rather than blame durdin.

(and some bewildering umpiring..... apparently when punching the ball over the line, one is also intentionally blocking....WTF?)
