At the moment Newnes is playing at the standard you would expect, while I've been impressed with Boyd. Good pace, positioning, attack on the footy and skills.

We play this high handball game which is great for a skilled AFL side but a VFL team under pressure, not so much, bit sloppy. Some of the kicking isn't up to it.
Played a weaker side last week and looked a million bucks.
Throw Motlop and Kemp into the guts for a bit. Need to get them into the game and put them in a situation where they can just compete. Not for massive minutes just to get them into it. Playing them forward the whole game isn't quite making progress.
Cottrell, what planet was he on!
Dow looking ok, taking the game on a bit.
Young just looks a bit slow but there is talent there. McDonald is definitely ahead of him.
Newnes looks a class above. Boyd does as well, I get the impression we will like how he plays the game.
We are missing some good AFL talent out there unfortunately. Would love to have Marchbank, Carroll, Philp, Honey, Curnow, Stocker, Martin and Cuningham playing football this week. The VFL guys do some good things but aren't as clean.

how is dow playing?
A lot of moments Motlop looks better and more comfortable up and around the midfield, there was one of those moments. Knows his way around there quite well.
