List Mgmt. 2022 Senior List - The Final TWO Spots

It was last weekend at Princes Park....they played against Vic Country.

I got to see most of the game...thought Maher was okay without being a standout. Was hoping he may be more dominant, going from playing against AFL listed players to a bunch of 17/18yo's. Tyreece looked fairly solid down back....I reckons he'll become a pretty big unit when he develops over the next few years.

The standout players for mine were Charlie Molan (midfielder currently with Williamstown), Massimo D'ambrosio (midfielder currently with Tiggs VFL), and Jamieson Ballantyne (wingman currently with Dogs VFL) - who I thought was really impressive.

Another kid named Jai Culley didn't play through 'injury', but is tipped to be in the first few picked in the MSD.
Charlie Molan is one to watch. Won Ballarat Rebels B+F and was absolutely top rated in a team that featured Lohmann, Gibcus, Hobbs and Butler who were all early draft picks last year. A midfielder so probably not for us - but he is AFL quality.

I'd have thought you'd steer clear of cheap straw-manning.

It was never suggested that we should delist Parks so that we could take a MSD pick.

It was suggested that, if he was already in the frame for delisting, then moving him to the inactive list would be a viable list strategy decision given his injury will be preventing him from taking the field til the final few rounds of the year.

They're very different things, which I'm sure you're well and truly capable of comprehending.

No straw-manning here.

Just very pleased that we acted professionally rather than impulsively.

Some fans want a shiny new toy to play with, glad the club can see the human side of it which can often be forgotten.

You're a BF Mod, Jeremias, I'd have thought you'd have a responsibility to engage in these discussions in good faith. Suggesting that I wanted Parks delisted or his career ended to free up a spot in the MSD was absolutely a straw man. It wasn't what was suggested, but you ran with it anyway to try and score points.

And you've done it again here. Instead of responding to the actual views that have been clearly put forward, you're just hand-waving them away by implying that those views came from a place of childish impulse. They did not. They came from the same "professional" approach that you seem so pleased to see being applied to OMac's position.

It's disappointing that someone with a responsibility to maintain the integrity of the forum would behave in such a way.

Not looking to score points. I never even mentioned you, there were a number of posters advocating for a similar outcome.

Think you need to chill out and avoid the angry pills, they're not helping.

Correct, and none of those posters were suggesting that Parks should be delisted to make room for a MSD pick either. In fact, it can't be done. All we could do is move him to the inactive list, and his possibly tenuous position on the list was put forward as one of a number of factors that would make it reasonable.

Why the constant need for personal attacks? We've gone from straw-manning to gaslighting now. Not only have I (among others) apparently been childishly impulsive in my suggestion to move a player to the inactive list, now I need to "avoid the angry pills" after a post which was anything but "angry"?

Are you not capable of recognising or accepting that the suggestions I and others were making were not what you portrayed them to be - to use your words from a number of posts, a heartless, childish and impulsive desire to prematurely end a young player's career just so we can take a highly speculative MSD pick? Do you not see how disingenous it is for you to misrepresent those suggestions in such a way, especially given your position?

I've tried looking but can anyone point me in the direction of where I can see the msd order of picks please
There is no order until the rounds of football that need to happen before it are done and dusted. Then the ladder at that point will determine it, via reverse ladder order for teams that have room on list to participate.

Whoever we take they need to be ready to go in case of break glass option.
Yeah, we cannot be using it on project players types like we did with Mirkov.
We need to use it for this season's football to make sure we have enough players able to play key defence or ruck to get through this season.

"With an example like Parks, I'd suggest there is even some doubt as to whether he holds a spot on the list going into next season, which might make the idea even more appealing."

Seems pretty clear that the above quote is suggesting we bring forward his delisting, but maybe I've misread it.

Personal attacks? Where?

Suggesting you seem angry is hardly a personal attack. Just an observation and a suggestion to dial back the attitude.

My position? Am I not allowed an opinion on the matter because I'm a moderator? Damn. Someone really should have told me that earlier.

If you're going to 'use my words', would love you to point out where I said it was childish. And once you've done that, point out where I said it was heartless.

Maybe then we can have a discussion about who has been disingenuous and misrepresented the other?

What have you heard?

Carmichael looks a seriously classy player.

Just that they have been in regular contact with both him and his SANFL club. 3 clubs been in regular contact and all have shown a fair bit of interest.

Is very very raw, but has some serious tricks and a massive ceiling.

His goal kicking on the run from 60 is ridiculously impressive.

Seems pretty clear to everyone but you that that is not what was being suggested. It was even restated multiple times, which you've ignored. Moving Parks to the inactive list would be viable because he is a depth player expected to be sidelined with injury til R20. It would be an even more appealing move if it happened to be the case that his position on the list next year was up for debate. Holding his spot in case he can return in R22 would be unnecessary if we weren't planning on retaining him anyway.

Suggesting I need to lay off the angry pills is personal. It serves no purpose other than to try and paint my previous post as the words of someone acting in anger instead of rationally. It is gaslighting, and it is highly inappropriate.

Your position as a mod does not preclude you from having or sharing opinions. And in fact, at no point did I suggest you couldn't. Which in turn, exposes this as yet another effort to twist what I have posted. My issue is with the fact that you have repeatedly misrepresented what others have posted, and disparaged their views instead of reading, comprehending and then discussing them.

I'll cop the explicit wording feedback - childish and heartless were not words you used. You did however suggest that "Some fans want a shiny new toy to play with, glad the club can see the human side of it which can often be forgotten." Attempt to twist that however you like, the implication is that those fans are being childish in their desire for a shiny new toy, and heartless for forgetting the human side of it.

Been very very hot on a lad here in SA called Josh Carmichael, thought we might have cooled with our talls going down but we haven’t and we now have 2 spots.

Has a booming kick on him IIRC.
