So this season it is likely we have:
In - Ashcroft, Dunkley
In Potential - Fletcher
Out - McStay
Out Potential - Gardiner
Out Retired - Robinson

Steak Knives we could trade - Fullarton

Going to say Fort can pick up McStay's role
Wilmot can easily take Gardiners (he is quicker and doesn't seem to make as many flat out errors)
Robinson leaving opens up a permanent wing spot for Dev, with Zorko and Rich likely to retire in the next few it opens up further spots.

We're not looking bad at all tbh

You have a ridiculously good track record. The only explanation is that you're Daniel Rich.

Wow. I just realised if you remove the S in daniels and Es in riches then you get Daniel rich. I think you’re onto something. Do you work for asio?

The way I see things. You need to get the Lobb deal done, which ideally would be an early second round pick (Freo will ask for our first round pick we send to you as sure as night follows day).

Two options suit us.

1) We can send you our 2022 and 2023 first round picks, as well as our fourth round pick, and you can send us that North third round pick and your future second round pick (which we can on trade to the Suns for a second round pick).

2) Or we can trade our future first round pick to the Suns for their 3 second round picks, and we send you our first round pick plus pick 25 (which we get from the Suns).

I much prefer option 2.

May be we could say if you want option 1 and get your hands on the 2023 first rounder then help us make up the points using one of your other trades.

If loosing the Prelim to Geelong left a bad taste in your mouth - get over it, move on. Bring on next season we are ready with the improvements needed.

If we get the deal done for Dunkley and get young Ashcroft we have fixed a big chunk of what was needed and we will be a better team next year.

You bloody beauty, just cant wait now.

Big bonus with McStay leaving we go back to 2 big forwards and i think we want better like that. Fort come in and we play 2 rucks and i think we go better when Fort is in.

If we manage to get Fletcher even better.

Do you actually know the Club’s side? Surely after the lesson of the Zorko debacle of a one sided narrative it is worth giving the club some credit.
I am assuming by your post that you do T Rick? And by knowing I mean not just reading articles and hearing from Greg Swans dog groomer?

If so enlighten us, cause frankly if you do know more you won't be permitted by the club to elaborate cause the club would put out their own statement and if you don't your just like the rest of us.

As I am not knowing of all the facts and can only read what is in the papers or news. I choose to assign blame to both parties for their roll. I refuse to accept the club was purely at fault and I refuse to condemn Mitch for his post either.

I like your enthusiasm Clarky, more of that needed round here

We have shallow key forward depth as it is and you want to get rid of our only somewhat played forward in the wings?
Genuine question, how many times have you seen him mark/kick goals when he has come in as a forward? He might kicks bags vs kids in the VFL, but he comes into the forward line and kicks 0.4 a game, which is the opposite of what we need if we need forward depth

I don't know what Robbo actually asked for...do you?
I don't know what the Club offered Robbo in lieu of what he wanted...do you?
I don't know whether his request was based on being told he was being delisted or whether he had advised the Club he wanted to be traded or whether it was a bona fide retirement.
Whatever the situation Robbo appears to be bitter.
His messaging was initially very ambiguous..."my last game at the Gabba".
What I do know is that Robbo sent out an instagram message, literally minutes after his Club, coach and his teammates had just been flogged in a Preliminary Final at the MCG bagging his Club and coach.
The Zorko crucifixion shows how dangerous it is to listen to one side of any narrative and throw stones.
I was appalled at Robbo's dummy spit and can only assume that the Club had its reasons.
Fages does not appear to be a mean-spirited person and the Lions certainly do not come across as a nasty, disrespectful entity.

No doubt, but he is at least a body that gets manned, who then knocks down the ball to a small and he can ruck.

If not Fullerton then who replaces Hippy or Joe when they are out? Not Payne, he's a cemented backman now. Lester? Hasn't got it what it takes to play tall anymore. Smith? I don't see it yet - if ever. Prior - maybe?

Simply put, we need Fullerton, at least the short-term. Happy to reassess his position in a couple of years from now and take him off the list if things don't work out, but we need other developing forwards until he is taken off the list.

Dev tried his guts out in the finals.

Didn't look like someone who had "checked out"

Not to say you're wrong but my perspective on this is that after seeing Des Headland play his heart out for us back in 02 and winning the GF, he still told us, after it all settled, that he wanted to be traded back home.

I know a lot of things have certainly changed since that time of course but I'm just not as sure about reading into that type of body language to determine whether they'll stay or not.

I think Prior is actuallly a good replacement, as is Ah Chee. Both are swingmen who can go at either end if required. Fullarton is a tall that has no genuine ruck craft who is forced into ruck situations. It sucks for him, but I really don't think he is best 22.
