Lions get - Bowes, Dunkley + 25(Suns).

Suns get - Future 1st(Lions).

Dogs get - 7(Suns).
Could we get away with getting the Suns' pick 7 and giving the Dogs our pick 15 instead?
I wonder how much Gardiner was on really.
As a restricted free agent I think that means he was in our top 25% paid players. Which surprised me a bit. Not sure how that translates to actual $$.

Bowes wants to play mid. His ceiling is a more contested version of Pendlebury/McCluggage.

He has the added bonus of being able to play off half back.

Geelong delisting Narkle is them making a big play for Bowes. And they want that pick 7 for Geelong Falcons inside mid, Jhye Clarke.

They can make us an offer then when we get it

Dunkley, Gunston, Ashcroft, and Fletcher (and maybe Bowes) in, and McStay as seemingly the only meaningful loss would be one of the best pre-season hauls for a team in their window that I can remember if the club can pull it off.

Covers a lot of bases and Gunston has always struck me as someone that could play well into his 30s.

Us potentially trading Gardiner is a much bigger play than Narkle, especially given he's a Queenslander who'd likely be keen to stay in Qld.

Any reason why we couldn’t play a Fullerton at CHB . Reasonably agile , could be a decent option give him a go in pre season . Suppose reading the play and not understanding forwards leading pattens could undo him a bit .

A more contested version of Pendlebury is a Brownlow medallist...

I think a major deciding factor for Bowes will be where he wants to play his football, positionally. And if it’s midfield he wants, we probably aren’t in a position to guarantee that as much as the Cats, considering our depth (Dunkley, Neale, Ashcroft, Clug, Berry, Lyons, Dev, Bailey and Rayner). So ultimately I reckon he ends up at Geelong.

Reading all this rubbish about us potentially trading Rayner is just laughable . 22 years pretty good season coming off acl is a real beast at the contested footy and has a long term contract with us and is loved by the players . Why is it so hard to fathom that we will probably be happy to go into a draft point deficit next year . If we are adding Dunkley , Ashcroft , fletcher and Gunston that’s outstanding . Sit 2023 out and load up again with Levi Ashcroft and a few others .

I’m just hypotheticalling here but if we get in Bowles and Dunkley plus the kids but the collateral was Dev (I’m just spitballing here), would it be worth it?

If it’s Gardiner, where do we sign?

So the 2023 to 2025 team will look to out do the 3 peat team for Brownlows.

I knew I’d get picked up on that. I don’t believe Bowes is quite at their level, but he definitely could play a very similar role to what McCluggage plays.

I can’t believe GC are pushing Bowes out, because I would have had Bowes in their midfield, with Miller, Rowell and Anderson.

I don't know how their list manager has cooked things this much.

I'm all on board Bowes train. He's a very good player just needs the right environment. Will be best 22 and had more runs on the board than a lot of our other rotational midfielders such as bailey and rayner. Getting pick 7 which we can split or on trade for dunkley is a massive added bonus.

Would look at Bowes on a wing with he’s pace Ah Chee back in defence so he could still play a midfielder role at the Lions
