we had people here cracking it at a guy who only really posts about queensland footy because he was saying things they didnt like here a few weeks ago because he has st kilda in his bio.

If you’d witnessed some of his content on the QAFL thread you possibly wouldn’t say it was the only reason.

How well ? still hasn’t landed his prime target !
the way I see it he has very little collateral left for a player of Dunkley’s quality.
You guys should be pissed if he misses out on him by not offering reasonable market value.

It will get done for what we have. Just a discussion of how much of that we’re giving up at this stage.

The definition of market value is literally what the available market will pay for something. So by definition given we are the only technical market, market value is what we are willing to pay.

But fear not the deal will get done in the end and you'll get exactly market value by definition. What that is who knows. Usually it's halfway between what each set of supporters ideally want

If you’re going to post on an opposition board during trade week you have to be really careful about what you say if you don’t want a card.

Dodongo had fun on the Collingwood board when we were trading them back Beams. Dodongo got a red card but Dodongo doesn't regret it. Dodongo thinks the Lions mods are good dudes/dudettes

He has managed to pick up Cameron, Neale, Daniher, McCarthy, etc in recent years and has a reputation as a very fair negotiator who gets things down without trying to rip other clubs off, he's going great. You guys will get a fair deal, maybe less than your supporters want but so be it. We'll probably end up paying more than many of our supporters would like as well, this is pretty much the definition of a fair deal.

Yes, I’ve been thinking about that GC 1st rounder next year that they are likely to trade out.

We’ve got too much going on this year to be able to plan for it, but a clever team could stockpile some 2023 2nd and 3rd round picks during this trade period, and come next year be well placed to trade them out for GC 1st round pick.

Dodongo likes that idea. That is clever thinking. Its not too late for the club to do that depending what futures are thrown in to get Dunkley.

Landing the prime target first would've robbed us off all the assets to get the points. He's keeping all the good assets in play while gathering us the points early in trade/draft period. Doing the trade and then looking for points will be too difficult and Dom knows it better than anyone.

He'll turn his attention to trade at the end, once we do a tiny bit more on the points front - hopefully as part of other deals.

Wait, can we not troll stupid opposition supporters on our own board?

I'm more then happy for visiting supporters to provide actual context and discussion around players in the trade period. But walking around and trying to tell another team how it is in their own home is a bit rich.

If they want to be delusional (no idea what they are saying havent been there at all), our posters shouldn't be going over there to poke the bear.

Keep it classy lads lol.

Bingo.

Suggesting the board and/or specific posters are in denial is exactly what would get people time off here as well.

It's worth reiterating to everyone that you don't have the same right to reply in other boards that you have here, and that is expected. Supporters of a club get a lot more leeway on that club's board.

I'd be more worried about your Kingdom Harry, the French are coming!

I am sure I can hear La Marseillaise playing......

Probably worth noting here that as good an addition as Dunkley would be, priority number one for us had to be Ashcroft. You don’t get many father son gifts and to miss out on him also would likely lose Levi too.

Dogs didn’t want to give us picks back which is fair enough - but if we had done F1 and 15 it would have seriously jeopardised our chances to get the points for will, let alone Jaspa too.

Years ago I got a week for arguing on the Blues Board, it was after the Judd pressure point incident and I ended up calling it out, I didn’t even get to say good night 🤬🤬

Per the herald sun trade update posted an hour ago GC have removed themselves from making any late play for Dunkley (duh).
Every last ditch option the doggies throw up is getting taken away one by one. I'm almost certain the deal will just be 21 and a future first for Dunkley but it'll of course have to wait till the last day.

The issue I see is they keep referencing the Tarranto deal, well for one I think Richmond paid overs; 12 should have got it done alone.

Just because one club is in balls deep trying to bail out a sinking ship doesn't mean we need to follow their lead.

Same article says that respected recruiters believe 21 + future first to be a fair offer.
