His wife is his manager apparently. Just finished the AFL accreditation and ready to negotiate.
When that news broke (that Jacinta had completed her afl management licence), they were quick to point out that Jacinta is not representing Buddy, and has no intention to.

I haven't kept track, but I recall that he gets rested for a lot of games.

Is that just injury or managing an older player?
not sure although Buddy is a match winner type of player
Someone who when on wins matches for the Swans
Like Dusty, Gawn, Petracca, Cripps, Bont etc etc

We really do not have that player who when on in a big match turns the tide and wins it for you.
Charlie can be sometimes.Neale is fantastic although he is a different type of player.
Joe, Hipwood or Dan not really.

The one player my son in particular has liked the looks of is Brodie from Dockers - ex Suns boy - no way am I saying for us to get him more observing as to the type of player I wished we had recruited -a tall mid type player which I think our small mids lack.
No doubt I will be corrected but I think he was free.

I think Suns got a future 2nd back from Fremantle

They gave up pick 19 with Brodie for a future 2. It was a salary dump.

Trade wouldn't have happened without the suns getting all those priority picks a few years ago, made them exceptionally willing to trade away 19 as it wasn't even close to their best few picks and they weren't going to use it in the draft.

That end of first round and Brodie definitely makes it look in Fremantle favour but freeing up cash for King and Rankin will help the Suns in the long run

Sadly wouldn't be shocked if we do very little to add to the midfield this off-season. Have a feeling our cap isn't in a spot where we can really splash the cash.
We're in a bit of a spot really . Don't see any emerging midfielders currently in the list who are going to suddenly take the next step.

If we're relying on Rayner and Bailey that looks a bit in the hoping territory.

We need Ashcroft . Then we need him to be good.

We absolutely can afford to bring in a top tier player.

Berry and McCluggage aren't old and are taking the next step. Bailey and Rayner will. Ashcroft will. We'll add more via trade. We still have Neale. We'll be fine.

I suppose if you're a total optimist that's a reasonable take. I don't see why they'll all come good in the role next year if they're not really now but hmmmm.

Bailey has 28 goals and has shown good signs in the middle. He's not a full time mid yet but has not been played as one. Neither has Cam who is coming off an ACL and will absolutely be better and more consistent next year. All they need to do is keep progressing which they've done year on year and they will continue to play a part of our midfield.

Berry and McCluggage are both good players and will be ready to hit their prime in the coming years. McCluggage has shown a huge amount in the middle and will show even more when he has better support.

Neale will still have another high calibre season in him next year.

If we then add an established contested ball winning mid (which I'm confident we will) along with Ashcroft (who was ready for AFL level this year and many within the club feeling he'd be best 22 already if he could have been drafted), it is not optimism, but simply realistic that our midfield will improve next year and that's not even factoring in JL who has struggled this year but - with an injury free pre season - could have one more good year left in him.
