Also, is it perhaps worthwhile going into a very small deficit this year? That would at least ensure we haven't "wasted" any points that we might want to trade out of next year's draft into the 2024 draft in our pursuit of Levi Ashcroft.

I love the club but I just try and be realistic. Would love 2 top 10 picks for Dunkley but that is just fantasy land. He has given the club great service, has played in a premiership and GF so it would be unfair on him if he ended up in the PSD.

I just don't understand the logic to give such a big f* you to the player you just awarded your B&F. Getting our pick gets Rory Lobb done, so it's not like it's not going to have a positive impact. I'd love to sell my house for $1 million, but if it's only getting offers at $800k and that number gets me the next house I want, you do the deal.
The idea they'll walk him to the PSD speaks a massive level of disrespect to a premiership player.

Nah if Power has the internal blessing, he might not do the trade if no 2 first round picks. This is fine by me. I'll be happy to see them not take F1 + 21.

21 had a lot of interest I believe, we could generate so much more in terms of pick maneuvering.

Lucked into a premiership courtesy of the umpires, otherwise the Dogs would be up there for all-time poorly ran clubs. It's not a surprise really.

Just the fact that Bevo is still at the helm says it all. I don't dislike the Dogs, I think they have every right to play hard ball for a star player wanting out but they're not a well run club and speaks volumes as to why Dunkley wants out in the first place.

Bevo is one of our biggest problems. Thinks he is the club.

The weird part of all this is that clubs have to understand that trading is done each and every year. Clubs don’t forget if you were an ass one year in regards to haggling. All clubs would be aware of this.

I don’t think this is actually true. There are exceptions (Dodo) but with the constant turnover of list managers and staff, plus the fact I get the feeling they are all pretty pragmatic about the process, I doubt many grudges are held.

At least we don't have to worry about any potential Dunkley offspring going to the Bulldogs under father son/daughter.

We do not have pick 15.
And by then we will not have pick 21 or 34,35,36 or 38 because they will be taken up with the Ashcroft bid.
