Not sure we absolutely have to draft a KPF. I still think we can shake loose a Georgiades type. Maybe not this off season, but hopefully next. We have JVR coming through, and although Petty is a gun defender, clearly the coaches don't rate him that highly as a defensive post(15th in the b&f), so can be moved forward where he's looked pretty good. I think best available in the draft is still the way to go.
I’m becoming more convinced that we are going to attempt to get right near the top of the draft to take someone in particular.
Reports saying we’ve asked for top 7 pick from Freo. We may then even look to upgrade again from there which may be possible with clubs apparently preferring next year’s draft.
I’d love the club to take on the groupthink by going at the players we want in this year’s draft if clubs are overrating next year’s. Whenever there is talk of how amazing a future draft crop is it always turns out to be overblown.
Was about to say this kid looks to be the one I'd want after Ashcroft. Fingers crossed we can get high enough to pick him up.Harry Sheezel is who we are looking at - apparently we have him rated super high.
Although it’s started looking like he’s moving even further up a few draft boards and could be gone by pick 5 now - even pick 2/3.
Good size and forward craft, never looks panicked. Bit of a worry the set shot kicking like danster168 said, gets no momentum thru set shots. Reckon hes more a Hawkins type than Cloke coz of game smarts.
The questions id have is has he just beaten up on smaller kids, does he have the motivation and scope to become better or is he the type to get comfortable and cruse? Needs to pass the Papley-Passion Test before im willing to give the seal of approval
Having said that I like him far more than Jefferson, Jefferson may never develop as an AFL KPF and become another Watts, Cadman has the tools and frame/body to be a very good KPF in the AFL, clearly the higher floor of the two/far less risk in him, should be making an impact inside 2 years in the system.
Looks pretty good mate, good athleticism, neat field kick.
Contested marking looks a bit hit/miss?
Also he looks like he has plenty of room to get stronger, so not too concerned there.
He looks very Hogan to me, doubt we get a chance to draft him.
Jefferson, worth noting he played through a fractured leg during season and kicked a bag of 4 during (assume similar to Trac) so it's good to see some resilience there - agree he looks a little raw, good upside and good that he marks well (tackling looks a bit weak).
Just go best avail ultimately, nice that we have a young KPF in JVR who hits the packs hard and has performed at VFL level in the wings already.
Harry Sheezel is who we are looking at - apparently we have him rated super high.

Just had a read of Cal Twomeys updated draft order that he released yesterday so thanks for that.Im off to look now. Thanks mate,
Thanks for the insight.Just had a read of Cal Twomeys updated draft order that he released yesterday so thanks for that.
He has Sheezel and 4 and Cadman at 5.
Jefferson is at 10.
Another one we like up towards the top is Jhye Clark if you’d like to have a look at him - but we don’t hold him in the same bracket as Sheezel and Wardlaw.
George Wardlaw is the very top name (many believe he’ll translate to AFL better than Ashcroft). His manager (Paul Connors) put him on ice early in the year and kept him there as they didn’t want to go to North - but he’s still fairly likely to be first picked after Ashcroft goes to Bris.
I’ve said too much there but oh well..

haha, first minute of this and im left wondering why the * we'd be interested in this garbage..the rest of the tape is VERY impressive though, the goal at 2:02 is an absolute beauty ..and from deep in the pocket....perfect for us, no wonder we are so keen.
Get Gunston/Sylvia (hopefully with a better work rate) vibes from him.
Looking at the state championship games appears he played mainly midfield but more as a forward for the Dragons. I think I prefer him as a forward but good to have someone like him who you can rotate between forward and mid with confidence.
I like him a lot.
I mentioned this when you said something about us pushing further up the board with the Jackson picks.Couldn’t like this anymore- he’s the one I want as well
I think this will certainly be something we look at doing especially if we get a future first as well In the Jackson trade.I could easily see us using pick 7 and next year's first of ours to get a pick inside 3-4. GWS and Essendon don't need key forwards. So could potentially use our interest to leverage 2 for 1.
I heard him interviewd on Trade Radio yday. Described himself as a mix between Connor Rozee and Toby Greene up forward, and Pendles in midfield.
Yes, at this point the recruitment team has kicked goals over the last several years so they deserve some faith. The talk that every club wants to be high in next years draft really helps - will be able to shuffle up by trading next years picks for an upgrade on this years.
I really trust our recruiters and I like the way that if we want someone in the draft we do what we need to get them instead of trying to fight to the death about the perceived value of whoever we’re trading.
Bedford AND Hunt gone? A11dAtP0w3R which made you happier, the flag or today?Bedford to GWS apparently

That's just room for 2 more rucks to play with Gawn and Grundy, then we can play volleyball in the forward line. With Bedford and Hunt out the door, we really need to be looking at some more inside mids
That’s not a draftee though. What they are describing is a supernatural being with god-like powersI heard him interviewd on Trade Radio yday. Described himself as a mix between Connor Rozee and Toby Greene up forward, and Pendles in midfield.
