The only way someone takes him is if he agrees to a 4 year deal with the other 2 being minimum wage and spread the 1.6

He's coming into his prime and won't agree to a minimum wage.
If it's me I would expect at least $400K over year 3 and 4 making it 2.4 over 4 years.
He just has to work out if an average of $600k over 4 years is ok.
If he doesn't get an acceptable offer he will stay and we'll have to pay

If Bowes is on 1.6m over the next 2 years he must have been playing on peanuts up until this point, no wonder he was annoyed at us asking him the question

Like Treloar his loyalty has cost him his spot at the club. By doing right by the club and allowing them to balance the books by shifting his average wage to later years he's effectively burnt himself.

No player who is happy at the Suns will allow themselves to get burnt like this due to the utter ineptitude of Craig Cameron.

We have possibly 3 highly rated academy kids. Take either quality pick this year and bank points for next year.
Has been plenty of talk in Footy Media and Forums that the Saints could possibly get North's future picks that they applied for assistance, in a trade for Hunter Clark.
If Kangas finish 17th or 18th next season those picks would be equal to either picks 9 or 10..
Ben Long and those picks should help you get those academy kids
.

So is bad news that Bowes is due 1.6M for next 2 years? I really was worried for a moment that Anderson is not keen to re-sign.

Let's say 600K + 200K deferred per year?

Considering he was just under 400K in his 3rd year (2019), 600K would not surprise me.

We could be lucky to get back 2nd rounder.

could we have extended & spread bowes's last 2 years instead of shipping him off, similar to what we did with darcy this year?

That's fine if he is a best 22 player and playing regularly. If he is going to play reserves when he could be playing regularly at another club it's not in his or the club's interests.

Probably what we have to do if there's no takers.
There will be takers. I have no doubt that juicy pick seven will get people interested and then once he has signed they will renegotiate the deal over longer years because their trades team are actually competent.

We should all be calling for Craig Camerons head on a platter let’s not forget he was the guy who signed Bowes to this contract, and is now selling him and our future yet again just to fix his own **** up.

I remember very clearly Dew having a press conference 12-24 months ago or so, and talking about the first thing you need to do in his first couple of years was get the salary cap/payment, structure, correct and that is it taken a couple of years to do so, but now they have done it, well, what a crock of shit that’s turned out to be, 3 years later and we are paying people to take top 10 draft picks off our hands.

I sent an email to ceo@goldcoastfc.com.au yesterday expressing ( in polite and measured language) my disappointment and dissatisfaction with clubs continued embarrassing foible’s. I encourage you to do the same as sitting on our hands and trusting in the journey has been like Moses walking in the desert and I’m sick of picking my nose in the hot desert Sun and pretending I can smell the promised land. It’s not good enough and someone making decisions needs to get the knife

Maybe someone needs to make up a random star player linked to us just to give us some sort of hope. Getting tough reading this garbage everyday. I get the idea of the salary dump but this seems extreme.

Hang on I think I've worked out what's happening- north take hill and his big salary so Saints can take bowes and his big salary so suns can take thomas and his big salary. We end up with no picks but that doesn't seem to worry us 😆
