The only positive is that a future 3rd for our future 4th is some value.

We got a couple more point this year, but negligible. Lost some salary we aren’t really using, and weakened our list depth.

The only other thing I’ll say is that Holland’s draft class is pretty shallow and weak. Not sure we had many better options at the time with our pick, even with hindsight. Unfortunately he didn’t work out for us.
I can't see anything positive apart from out and out incompetency. Make yet another opposition team that has crapped on us in the past even stronger that may cost a spot in finals for f all.

Can anyone actually give me another hollands highlight in the three years he’s been here?

Goal on debut, rising star nom & premiership vfl player

What is that worth at the trade table?

Not happy with this one.

A few points this year, and not all that many points next year.

Going by this years ladder, our F4 will only be ~9 picks behind their F3. I hope we do much better next year, but...that's really bugger all return.

In simple terms we have given away a top 10 pick for a 2 spot rise this year and F3 instead of F4. Horrendous trading.

Ideally would have loved an A grader this year but to be able to bring in 4 academy players who all look very promising and to be stacked with picks next year its a pretty good result. Melbourne amongst others would give up their whole draft hand if it gave them jed walter, he's the one particularly that we are so fortunate to be adding to our list.

Hollands could have been a good player for us, but wasn’t. He may be a player for the Blues, but I’d be shocked if he is immediate best 22. Depth there, but near family.

Still, gave him away for peanuts.

Overall, the club got what they wanted out of the draft: points for 4 academy kids, future picks and cap relief.

But I doubt the fans are calling this an overall successful period in isolation…

Not great, but it's that or nothing next like we have seen with Sharp, and those extra points could matter between having and not having a deficit.

C- deal, more on Cameron's level.
Carlton would've signed him next year and we would've been handed a 2nd round compo if there year is anything to go by.

He was a top 10 pick 3 years ago. We haven't given away a top 10 pick, we have given away a underperfoming player for not much. Their draft position does no matter after year 2.
You make a very good point, those that we have moved on haven’t set the world on fire

Brodie was out of favour this year at Freo after a good 2022
2MP had a great first year but seems to be back to his old self in 2023
Scrimshaw BOG average

Bowes dogshit as well. Yes we haven't maximised returns but the players aren't setting anything on fire. None of them have done anything.

I’d say Hollands would’ve been on 400k plus which is a fair amount for a VFL player. With another year to run on his contract it would be a big reason why we didn’t get much back as Carlton will be taking on his full salary

Expect Hollands and Martin to do quite well under the feet of Mackay and Curnow. Hollands was probably our best on in the VFL grand final, we've given him away for nothing and told ourselves we don't need him. So be it, but expectations grow and patience thins
Hollands ain't doing shit in a forward line. He is way to slow to be effective there.
