What reason do they really have to play for when their teammates are on holiday already. I don't blame them if they go out in straight sets. Playing well today makes no difference to making round 1 AFL side

You can say the same for a heap of Country and Ammo reserves sides who played yesterday in finals when the As were finished.

Our mids didnt even bother to try..

Our defense was atrocious and might as well have just handed the ball straight to their sturt opponents..

But its our forwards fault of course!.. espaecially that young newchurch kid..

What reason do they really have to play for when their teammates are on holiday already. I don't blame them if they go out in straight sets. Playing well today makes no difference to making round 1 AFL side

Usually I'd say something about it could kill a career, but that's not the case this year. It certainly does not impact our round 1 side whatsoever, pre-season is just too important for this to be able to impact.

Mostly, it's just professional pride and to put themselves in the shop window for the lads who are well and truly stuck in the log-jam, i.e. Cook, Newchurch, Gollant, Hately, Hamill etc.

And our centre clearances were no good and will struggle without a ruck

Also we have Brown Hately etc all like to handball so too much of one type

You surely don’t think Newchurch looks good out there though ? Not playing with any intensity . That’s why he doesn’t play afl , he would never touch the ball

I think the main issue with having an extra one at this level would be they wouldn’t normally get much chance in ruck with strachan and Himmelberg rucking all game

But it would be a disaster if ROB TT and Strachan all injured at same time re afl side

Midfield and Defence is bad. Worse in this quarter.

But a semi decent small forward would have kicked 3 goals from the chances he had.

He had two loose balls he didn't get to due to lack of effort or ability to read the ball. And a shot he should have nailed.


He is not the reason we are losing, but the comment that brought him up was that it is obvious why he hasn't played an AFL game. Zero effort, he is lazy.

Should be delisted.

It took 20 min into the second before we turned up for this game. Pathetic.
No talls, no clearances, no marks, perfect field kicking for oppo marking practice at every turn.
Brilliant guarding of space, letting the oppo progress down the field at will.

Having said all that, if we get roasted at halftime and play man-on-man, with pressure, we can win this. If not, then goodbye.

Yes Thilthorpe is probably our next lead Ruck and is being developed in the AFL.

But the list spot Himmelberg is occupying should be a 20 year old with raw Ruck attributes.
