A poor man's Murphy .....nothing really unique about him
And I’ll tell you another thing. Did you know that young Logan Evans couldn’t get an U16 game with Norwood? Playing Div 2 football for Hectorville? Was he rubbish?

3 years later he has an AFL rising star shout? You have no idea what this kid might be capable of - no idea at all. Neither do I.

Umm with all these good players plus a maturing of our young squad plus what if we have stuff all injuries, what are we gonna do when we have a run of 15 goal wins against the SANFL teams. I like that we can get extra players but it's still a shit setup for the comp.

This is on the ball. The clubs are very grumpy about the new rules which starts to tilt an independent competition toward being a pathway competition.

The SANFL is a business though and there is some fear they have become a bit attached to the $$$ of AFL clubs.

Tricky times ahead

josh Carmichael went from playing for merebin to Collingwood after 8 sanfl league games. You never know
The most famous example is Tim Stewart ....plucked from minor league to become a champion

Sure, there are plenty of examples of players getting their shots at the big dance .....in the majority of cases though, the opportunity is fleeting, as game deficiencies are magnified at AFL level

Jack Hayes - finally got his opportunity at St Kilda ....realistically though delisted after the one year, the other year was the knee

James Willis - touted as a hard nose SANFL player, like to make it ....delisted without firing a shot

There are players with real talent, who are squeezed out of AFL Clubs ....however there's also a truckload of average players who frankly are odds-on to make it, for a variety of reasons

Willis was drafted as an 18yo? Nothing like Hayes/Carmichael

I don’t think you can write off a 2nd year player who’s a small forward in a bottom team - also a team that has filled themselves up with similar players.

Who knows what he’ll do - that’s the fun! And if he played no more AFL games he’s still played 10. That’s a mighty effort for anyone and 10 more than I played.

Willis had a very frustrating run with injuries hardly playing any VFL in his first 2 years (9 games) and again injured during this year's preseason and didn't play until round 10. Drafted as a midfielder played as a forward...now where have we seen that elsewhere.

Back at North Adelaide next season so wouldn't write him off yet if he gets a clear run at, express pace and agikity when fit, hard nosed and a good finisher attributes that could see him get another shot if he can stay on the park.

And injured for most of his 3 years at Geelong then played forward mostly when he's a hard nosed inside mid predominately with exoress pace and agility and a nose for a goal.

Wow..... thats embarrassingly bad.
I'm guessing you watched very few SAINT's games, if any, apart from the Crows .....and you would have not been focussing on Wilkie

I watched all SAINT's games .....but I watch games differently to you, given my involvement with SuperCoach and AFL Fantasy ......we're all looking for bargains, and DEF players who turn balls over are not viewed favourably ....he's not a great decision maker

Wilkies disposal efficiency was 87% ranked elite as well as his 15.1 effective disposals.

1.7 clangers per game.

You sure you’ve been watching?

AA in 2023
B&F in 2024

All Australian, Best and Fairest.

Do you watch any football at all ?? Or do you judge a defenders game by his supercoach points ?? If you like, I can give you the address to the Champion Data office and you can compare bullshit rankings
