Seems eminently sensible

Will be interested to see if there's any scathing responses from our fans
Yes, can’t have him playing a game of football. If we made the finals he should have been rested for next year.

One minute is they can’t play as they are playing for a contract, then they get the contract and they still can’t play because.

There's no value in him playing, so he's not

The same as there was no value in Jacobs playing, so he didn't

We don't care whether our reserves team wins or not, the same as every team in world sport doesn't care about it's B team or farm team results

Yeh I’m sure those playing feel the same way

So those in charge don’t care how they feel
That's right and it goes without saying

You're seeing it demonstrated with Crouch just how much they really care about the result and the pecking order of priorities.

Sure, they'll spout "one club" and do everything they can to make the players and fans believe it's a priority. Internally they need the players and development coaches to be trying to win and to be successful

But when push comes to shove... Crouchy, you sit this one out eh?

Ah well if I was to be it that position the next time I played with Crouch and he was getting tagged and thump from pillar to post or being scruffed up in a melay I would just stand and watch, why would I go and assist him

No you wouldn't have, that's not in the DNA of a former Redlegs player, you'd have been in there flying the flag for sure...The players including the top ups are smart enough to know this wasn't Matt's decision.
OK you got me curious. Who is Cleanhands? Older norwood player? More recent Norwood player?

I've always pictured him as Johhny Wynne.

But everyone knows the SANFL team doesn't matter. It goes without saying

It's a development arm. Results are immaterial, beyond it's nice seeing our kids play okay and hopefully not get injured.
Look, I agree. It's the reserves team. Results only matter in that it reaches a winning culture. Berry can have more time on ball instead.

Dowling also.

With Jacobs it was different as all our rucks were out (suspended or concussed) that week.

Because you'd understand that if the positions were reversed and you were in Crouch's position you wouldn't play

The same as no AFC player or staff member held any resentment towards Jacobs.

Because they completely understood the situation he was in.

Huh ? ....the Crouch and Jacobs situations are completely different

Jacobs was at the end of his career, trying to squeeze another couple of seasons out .....he had agreed to leave the Club ....why put that at risk ?

Crouch is younger, staying at the Club ....and is no different to any other Crows listed player, playing SANFL .....can they also pick and choose when to play ?

I’d play as I would feel as if I’m letting my teammates down

Of course Crouch is different to every other SANFL player we have available.

Does he need to prove himself? No. Does he need to push his case for an AFL best 22 spot? No.

All the others do. There's reason for them to play, there's no reason for him to play

Yes he does have to prove himself .....34 games in 3 years, and most were spew worthy

Is he in our Top 10 B&F this year ......is he in our top 10 paid players next year ?
