What a champion!#44 named back pocket in AA team
Five time AA!
He has already surpassed enright.Bloody hell he's gonna be the equal of Enright before his career is done - if not surpass him!
7 years in the system and 5 AA's, is just nuts. He'll play 'til he's 35+ given his late entry into the system, so 8 AA's is not out of the question.
Incredible, just in awe of this man
If you swap Breust’s name out for Ollie Henry and I ask you whose had the better year based on the above numbers, Miers v O Henry?
Would you still come to the same conclusion as you did with Miers v Breust?
He has already surpassed enright.
enright 6 all australians in 16 years. once from the pine.
stewart 5 all australians in 7 years ( And stewart only missed out on 2020 cos he was injured and missed 5 weeks in a covid shortened season). always in the starting team.
stewart can dominate games like enright could not
I also think this board needs to stop comparing Enright & Stewart as players as they're different styles of players - they're complementary in style and not competing for the same spot in the team. So completely disagree that Stewart has surpassed Enright
If anything Enright was more of your classic half back flanker, aggressive between the arcs and while he locked down on players successfully, in an offensive sense he almost performed as a wingman.Exactly. They are different players.
We've always had very good half back flankers, going back decades. Tons of best and fairest winners too (Ray Card, Mark Bos among others). I still hold Enright as the gold standard but there have been plenty of good ones.
You said yesterday no Cats in the AA team.Congratulations to Tommy Stewart for his 5th AA in 7 years. Maybe a change to captain will be on the cards after Paddy’s dismal year??
Bont voted best player & captain by his peers , yet not captain of AA team because dogs didn’t make finals?
Libba and Dusty should’ve been in!
With a question mark…You said yesterday no Cats in the AA team.
I thought it was more of a prediction. Martin in, Stewart out, N.Daicos to back flank and Rozee to ruck rover was what you thought would have worked better? With a question mark…
Its because the AA team, like the Brownlow, is being voted on by the wrong people. The AA is selected by people in the team selecting "their guys" which is how every year we often see players in wrong positions. This year is one of the first years in a long time where most of the team actually plays where they should (they even picked wingers on the wings, imagine my ****ing shock).Congratulations to Tommy Stewart for his 5th AA in 7 years. Maybe a change to captain will be on the cards after Paddy’s dismal year??

Not many players make it missing 5 games in a season. But he was sensational when he played last year and snuck in because he was too good to leave out. he wasnt quite as good in 2020 but if he played 90 plus percent of the season he still would of made the team most likely. He only missed 4 games across two periods in 2020 - 23% of games
In 2021 he missed 5 games across two periods due to illness and suspension - 22% of games
Maybe it wasn't the games missed in 2020 which cost him selection, maybe he just didn't warrant selection that season
