Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

Duursma Vs Watson is like Fritsch Vs Pickett for the Dees. Who adds more to that team? Picket is exciting and can pop up for massive goals in big moments, and Fritsch is a reliable option who gets more involved up the ground and is just as deadly inside 50. They're rather similar in their output, and I think they're both a good guide for how Duursma and Watson will play in the AFL, though I think both have more upside than the two demons without being finished products.

Good analogy

Either would be nice in our forward line right about now TBH.

I do rate Fritsch though, small/medium forwards who can regularly kick 40+ goals a year are very valuable and our own version in Bruest is not getting any younger.

How do we get the Suns pick?
Suns will be trading their 1st as it will be used up in the Jed Walter bid if they don’t… They’ll be looking for a future 1st so we could offer ours…

I think depending on how the draft and compo to north shakes out we might pull the trigger- if Reid, McKercher and Curtain are the 1st 3 picks and Duursma and Watson are both available it’s really a no brainer for us to at least try for it…

Spot on!

I also like the look of Caddy, the boy has swagger and can kick bags of goals. Just depends what the club makes of his “ reported attitude”.

I’d also love to give Hawk F/S Calsher Dear 195 cm CHF a rookie spot.

The lad has stated he wants an AFL career and he reminds me of his dad with the way he plays. Low risk for high reward.

So yesterday’s loss was part of a cunning plan to sweeten our 2024 first

If we draft to fill our list needs this year my choices would be
Kpd mccabe
Kpf archer Reid
3rd tall forward Duursma or caddy
Wing Darcy Wilson
Quick mid mckercher
Small forward Watson
Pressure forward unsure more likely from state leagues than draft
Think McCabe can play CHB?

If not, I don't think he'll be a KPD.

My picks Watson.

Every time Cyril or Buddy picked up the ball in a BIG game, final quarter, the whole crowd would stand up in anticipation of the magic about to occur.

The Wizard gives off the same energy.

With Watson, Weddle and CJ we will have players who can energize the crowd every time they are on the ball.

Its not an accurate analogy because watson can run all day and is great overhead and knows how to time his leads at the ball carrier. He is an elite talent ppl undersell him as all they see is his height. Fritsch is a good analogy for Duursma however

Watching the Sydney vs Melbourne game. Fritsch is a constant scoreboard threat that genuinely turns games. I'm starting to lean towards Duursma even though I love the Wiz.

I hope the club still has their eye on Jackson Callow. He's missed most of 2023 through injury but has been back in the final 4 minor round games for Norwood and looking strong. Has kicked 9 goals in the last 3 matches. I have a feeling he will become a good AFL player, if not for us, then elsewhere.
No disrespect intended, but on what earth do you genuinely believe this. Unless you were joking.

the guys is slow as treacle and did not show anything in the small sample of games he was given. We have moved on.

Fritsch was also drafted at 22 years of age as a defender.

This is one of the problems with player comparisons. No one knows how these guys end up playing at AFL level. Rather than being swayed by what’s gone on at AFL for their comparison. Better to look at how they players themselves have performed.

Well they played each other today and there wasn't a live stream I could find, so we'll have to see the head to head tomorrow.

Fritsch another of those players who will spend his career being criminally underrated just because he wasn’t an early draft pick. Bloke is an absolute star who kicked 6 in a grand final
