I come in peace but I reckon wrong Ryan

I think Bode Ryan would be an outstanding pick if your first pick gets pushed up into the late 40s / early 50s on draft night and he’s still there

My 3rd ranked SA kid behind McCabe and Goad this year
Ryan was named best afield in South Australia’s last two games of the National Championships, proving a reliable member of the Croweaters’ back six. In the first of those outings, he was tasked with locking down Harley Reid after the top prospect booted three goals in the game’s opening 10 minutes. The 18-year-old also broke through for senior experience late in the year, turning out twice for Glenelg’s Reserves. They weren’t just any two regular old games either, with Ryan coming in for the semi final and duly playing a part in the Bays’ premiership triumph.

Bodie Ryan's profile on Rookie Me.

If he could go though the middle?
Endurance?

Please no, we do this too often, take a flanker and try to project them into a mid. If we want a mid, take the best available mid at our pick.

He looks a good, big, strong intercept marking defender, but at 188cm will be undersized at AFL level. Only going on a couple of minutes of highlights, but there was nothing there that suggested hard running mid to me.

Looks like he could become a world class leggie though :)

Hawthorn will today delist Chad Wingard and Cooper Stephens but are committed to redrafting the pair in the rookie draft. Means the Hawks can take in more list spots to the national draft for father-son purposes.

Rookie listing [Wingard] in place of the even more injury prone Orazio would be… pointless, yet amusing.

After an achilles injury age 30? F*ck off.
Nah you're right, the last live pick in the draft is a much better chance of having an impact.

My post isn't a desire to get Wingard per se, but the realisation that if Rioli is not available for finals we are no chance of kicking a winning score. So we can afford for him to not be available until late in season, and if injuries etc go our way, he might not even be needed.

Mitch Edwards an interesting slider.

Suspect he's going to be the last of the Rucks on the table rather than the obvious 1st choice Ruck early in the year.

Gets past 40 Freo can take him for nothing but they might not.

Don't think he interviews well

Update on Eagles mock draft for any that are interested. First pick has come in at pick 51 after pick bids have been done.

Had 4 players left that I liked for this selection in Jack Callinan, Laul, Stevens and McAuliffe.

In the end I went with McAuliffe. I know your Midfield is strong but he has all the traits you need to make it at AFL level.

He’s big, Strong, quick and is a good contested ball player. SA boy obviously which makes his shift to AFL level an easier transition.

His combine testing really stood out as he’s a guy who’s in a big pack of pretty even talent from a pick late in the teens right through to pick 50.

Hopefully Callinan is there at pick 60 your second selection as I’d like to add some depth to your small forwards. I don’t trust Willie. 👍🏻
With pick 60 Port have taken Bodie Ryan.

So your picks on our Mock draft came in at
Pick 51 Kane McAuliffe
Pick 60 Bodie Ryan

Personally pretty happy with that good luck for the draft and next year Port Fans 👍🏻

I’d have him just for the accent.

There's something about him that is a little Zak Butters when interviewed

Can pick up as a Cat B?
