I don’t care as long as Libba is in there.
It’s getting too hard to ignore him now.

31 touches
18 contested possessions (Match high)
12 tackles (Match high)
10 clearances (Match high)
10 score involvements
2 goal assists (Match high)

All this and he still won’t get the 3 votes over the Bont.

and 12 inside 50s (match high)

Kyle Langford has kicked 4 early goals while the game vs the Eagles has actually been competitive (it's his goals that have swung it in Essendon's favour). Getting hard to ignore now.*

*A statement that should only be allowed to be used for opposition players.

Okay, well he has 37 goals and 18 assists (55 total) from non West Coast games.

Curnow with 48 and 10 (58 total) actually only has 3 more non West Coast goals/assists than Langford and Curnow is rightly a lock.

Shows how underrated Langford's season still is.

He's been a very good and creative player for a while, AFL commentary generally runs years behind reality so they have finally worked out he is a good player.

I don’t know why you mentioned Curnow. I was just restating the number one rule of the AA thread.

Games against WCE mean 0.

this season's really been his breakout season, had a lot of strong games and has rarely gone missing. been super impressed from the get go considering i can't recall how often he's played in the f50

Yeah, kicking more goals and that gets noticed. I did notice a while back ie years that he seemed to be involved a lot when the Bombers scored.

Kyle Langford probably has a strong case for being named in a forward pocket somewhere, probably being the 2nd best small foward this season (after Toby naturally)

Number of goals v current top 8:

tex 31
larkey 24
curnow 21
langford 17
Jez 16
Allen 15
Daniher 14
Hawkins 9
Removing the bottom 3 teams is the better way to do this kind of thing, since there's a marginal difference between 5th and 14th (e.g if Essendon were one game better off Hawkins total jumps to 24) and positions within that range have changed dramatically week to week. And it stops such a big differential between players who have played top 8 sides more often (using averages would be a way to get around that).

Goals if bottom 3 teams didn't exist:

tex 44
allen 40
curnow 39
larkey 39
hawkins 38
daniher 38
naughton 34
jez 33
langford 33

Though of course Allen and Larkey wouldn't exist either.

Curnow would be on 42, he's kicked 25 vs WCEx2 + North.

But seriously what kind of cookery are we getting to when we are removing teams from existence in AA discussions. Key forwards have sharted on bad teams since the beginning of time, would love to know the last time a Coleman winner didn't beat up on some rubbish teams to skew their goal tallies.

Bottom 3 sides is not bottom 2 sides.
