Like these lineups - but Im not sure Kelly, Reid & Snelling will all play seniors round 1
I'd swap them with Heppell, Stewart & Hobbs

He’s entering his third preseason. I like him, but I don’t ever see him being able to take opposition FF’s, there’s nothing so far to suggest that he could

So needs to be a strategic one. Not sure you want to have a kid wasting time there.
Seems a tailor made spot for someone like Heppell - leadership on the bench, comes with a bit of height. comes into the game fresher than the players on the ground.

Can play a role in defence or in the midfield. Is not the captain, just an elder statesman. I like it.

I think we have enough depth that if someone is not pulling their weight defensively/not doing the team things/not doing what is asked of them by the coaches, then we can afford to drop them. Depending on injuries
 
Gone with a shortish half forward line - but Stringer to play through half forward after attending the centre bounce. If he can get into beast mode we look so much more dynamic with him ripping the ball out of the middle and surging forward. Stewart perfect SUB as he provides a tall experienced option forward or back wherever required until Jones/Cox/Reid get more consistent

Quoting yourself does make you a nob, but it is to explain.

No way Caldwell, Setterfield, Hobbs and Langford are all on the bench at the same time. Between them, we get the inside and defensive mids.

Sam Durham's running earns him a spot on the wing.

Based on what we've already seen I'm hoping Reid goes past Laverde this year so we have a genuine tall KPD. I'm also hoping that Jones goes past Weideman, and Wright has 5 min on the ball through the middle of every quarter to give Draper a rest.

If we get peak Hind he's in the team. If we get brain fade Hind he's replaced by D'Ambrosio.

If you think Stringer will be fit, then Walla will be fit too. He's come back that extra week and expect him to keep running in his time off for xmas. He's a ball of muscle so can do just running.

Walla and Stringer take the occasional centre bounce.

I've got lots of kids in the 2s because I want them to actually have time to develop their craft AND be able to play fewer minutes in different weeks to allow for heavier weeks in the gym. They should be given games if they string a couple of strong games together in the 2s and if the injury/form of the senior players demand it.

However, our best form showed last year, we're capable of being a good middle-of-the-road side. If our senior players can get us into the bottom half of the top 8 and the kids have to earn their spot we could see some inform kids having finals exposure.

If the senior players are rubbish, then they're replaced by kids to:
  1. get games into the kids
  2. finish low on the ladder
  3. clean out the list some more
  4. hit the draft again next year.
 
The VFL forward line is going to be real slack removing stuff, particularly early doors as I’m assuming Walla will need to work into it.

It will be interesting to see if they use AMT as a sub (until he builds his tank back up). It would also create a bit of buzz from the crowd when he first comes on.

It’s all about how the coaches make this even group work together as a relentless unit.

I reckon we may see a bit of Massimo as a small forward with a pressure game.
Durham may be another one with Langford + Martin spending more times on wings and Tsatas possibly spending early days there.

Surprised more by lack of Kelly in a lot of sides. the guy has successfully taken down small forwards who love to score freely against us.

I wouldnt underestimate Davey next year either

His speed and agility could be important, Guelfi deserves to be picked ahead of him at the start no doubt

Archie Perkins spot becomes an issue if were not providing enough forward pressure and he hasnt improved his ability in the midfield
