I'll try and recall and give you guys a half decent summary, few to many hard solos which are delicious by the way. South Warrnambool also wore a black arm band for Cowboy Neale which was a nice gesture by the club. South Warrnambool have produced a lot of good AFL players for such a small community based club in Warrnambool.

South Warrnambool was way too good for North yesterday. Kicked out to a 30 point lead at Quarter time and never got close from there. Dan Nicholson (Ex Melbourne listed player) was clearly best on ground. I had the pleasure of playing a lot of footy with him at Port Fairy.

Josh Saunders was relatively quiet compared to the rest of his season, had moments but I wouldn't say impacted the game.

George Stevens I thought had a good game. I haven't read who the coach gave the best to but I would be very surprised if he wasn't in their best. Strong at the contest, very clean hands and neat kicking skills. I was surprised at his marking skills as well, took a few strong overhead grabs. Played everywhere over the ground. Definitely looked better as a Mid/Defender than a Forward. I know the knock on him is his speed but that wasn't a worry in yesterdays game. I have made this well known but I want us to draft this kid. His brother Archie was also influential as a half forward.

Yep, hard to see him getting to the 20s now.
Missed the first half but just the 5 touches?

Cooper Lord is another I was keen to have a look at, he has 17 to half time. Didn't get into the Sandringham squad until January 4his years so might be a bit of a late bloomer and possibly a draft bolter after today.

Not just today though, he hasn't been much of an accumulator all year and especially the finals series.

Definitely looks good when he has it at though, and when he is chasing down opponents
I’m not all that worried about his possession count. It’s what he does with it that interests me.

We need speed. He has it.

Ideally we end up with two late firsts and grab another mid, but it’s a weak draft for pure midfielders.

Just grab TALENT.

Yeah, I'm sold on him, not watching today but the skills and run are so good.

Fair enough. I don't see another outside player as a big need if we are already getting Henry.

But you are right, it's not a strong draft for genuine mids.

Actually **** off Mini and chase Barlow for an assistant next year. He's got them humming. Goldy have a VFL side that would push a few senior sides and Werribee is keeping up to them and look the better side.

If you’re keen on George Stephens, you should contact Chris Toce…a friend of mine did that re: another player & found Chris very approachable
