Gave a rundown above of how I saw it from the first tweet to zerohanger to Jay Clark. I don't follow him super closely, but wouldn't have thought he was the best in the business.

Either way, Clark didn't say the Crows ARE after him, he suggested IF they are after South Australians they might look at Petty or Sparrow:

"Adelaide wants a mature-age player in return but will face heavy resistance from Melbourne if the Crows zero in on versatile tall Harrison Petty or hard nut midfielder Tom Sparrow."
I got told from a good mate last week who lives in Adelaide that the noise over there was they would push for Petty in the McAdam trade

Surprised it took Vic media this long to jump on the news

Fogarty for Petty would be closer to a fair swap. But Petty is a rare commodity where he can play back or forward. We're not giving this bloke up in any deal let alone for a 28yr old injury prone medium forward.

There is 0 chance Petty is traded, let alone for McAdam, and Crom would know that, so I honestly don't believe any of the rumours made up about this.

The fact that Sparrow was mentioned in rumours as well, purely because he and Petty are from SA, tells me there's nothing to this.

Best available mid at 3, the other pick would be best available excluding KPFs.
Id be pretty happy with this, too bad AFL clubs, media and supporters are about 30 years behind on this concept. Getting two different style in mids in at a high level could completely transform us.

Not to mention the cap room it frees up to go after someone at a much bigger need than inside mid.

More chance Oliver is traded than Petty

Petty is our #1 forward and Oliver hasn't got over whatever his issues were

Is inside mid the most overrated and easy to find position in the world? Ill answer it for you, yes, yes it is.
Yep and the bloke trolling is what I mean by 30 years behind.
Our cleance and contested game statistically didn't change without him in or out of the side, all we did was share the responsibility more.

Spamming the laugh react as a respone is typical.

I appreaticate the lols. That way I know im not on ignore. Im a must read poster.

This is pretty handy to get to know the potential players in the mix for us.

Assuming North get pick 3 as compo and all these guys are all picked in this order then O'sullivan seems the likely pick at 8. Pick 13 would become 16-17 by then. Who would we be taking with that?

Yep I’m thinking it’s going to be O’Sullivan. The true top tier will be gone and I can’t see us taking Watson or Sanders or Caddy.

For our next 2 or 3 picks.. I like the look of Caleb Windsor as a running mid with good foot skills, and Archie Roberts as a rebounding defender.

Wouldn’t mind a little punt on late riser Charlie Edwards too - tall running mid with a bit of X factor.

That list was drawn up on the 10th August so this one might be a little closer to the mark now;

This draft is stacked with tall players, and it's hard to tell whether they'll be any good, or if they're just good now because they tower over every other 17 year old on the field.

But, if you're looking at a late first/early second pick, Mitch Edwards seems to be rated very highly for his ruck craft.

Wouldn't be touching a ruck with a first round pick. Unless they're a freak like Jackson it's a total waste. He'll play at Casey for 4 years before requesting a trade for a third rounder.
