Cream of the draft? Thats Reid, Walter and McKercher, and potentially Curtin. Watson/Sanders are in the next bracket along with Windsor etc. I don't see the point unless you've got a specific need. Sanders and Watson don't really fit that bill.
What are you basing this off? So the hawks and dogs full-time recruiting teams who have watched these kids all year and poured over hours of footage and conducted hours of interviews are rumoured to be picking up Watson and Sanders despite being a bracket below Curtin?

I feel tonight might be the most unpredictable draft night's in a while. Top 3 seems set but after that who knows? If everything stays the same we probably end up with Windsor and Tholstrup but the live trading will be interesting. Seems more talk about it than usual. Having said that now, probably nothing interesting will happen.

We will get there F2 back anyway, pick 23ish. So it’s basically us trading 2024 pick 18 for hawks 2024 pick 23.

5 pick downgrade for a 2 pick upgrade.

Would do it any day of the week to upgrade Windsor to Watson/Sanders.

Going from a good wingman to cream of the draft.
We swapped our F2 with Collingwood’s

It’s hard to get enthused about Windsor and Tholstrup after the trade with Gold Coast. Could have more than likely got both guys with the picks we already had then used 27 and 35 on some decent kids too.

Ashton Moir is the standout at that range for mine and it also looks like a lot of the kids touted as top 10 or 15 picks during the year will still be available at those picks too.

I’ll back in Taylor and Lamb though, they’ve got the runs on the board.

yeah we basically threw away 27 and 35 for nothing. I think it was a big mistake.

Weird coincidence that both of my sporting teams (Melbourne and Orlando) have had Picks 6 and 11 in the draft this year.

Goes well with the coincidence of Melbourne being full of players who can't execute a fundamental skill (kicking) and Orlando being full of players who can't execute a fundamental skill (shooting). Both teams are hyper-defensive in style, too.

Anyone else have any strange links between their favourite teams?

Gave up 2 2nd rounders to move from pick 14 up to 11, only to draft a bloke no one had in the top 15 of rankings anyway.
Rankings weeks and months out from the draft really don't mean much, especially from journos.

Curtin has been top 3-4 all year, now could go as low as 10. Wilson has been on the cusp of the top 10, now has slipped as far 20 for some (including Twomey). Leake was barely on the radar a while back, now will likely go top 10. Charlie Edwards will likely go top 20, nobody had heard of him two months ago. Moir was seen as a top pick earlier in the year, now will be buried in the second round most likely. The list goes on.

They both went out in straight sets. :$
Oooh yes how could I forget! :rainbow:

Not quite the same, but Orlando also lost in the first round the last four times they made the playoffs, too ✅

Kind of feeling the same way now tbh. But I guess we were only using a couple of picks, so at least at 6 and 11 we have a good say in who we want. I think we moved up to seriously have a crack at Reid, which didn't work.

Even if it's correct mail that we're leaning to picking Kolthrup with second pick, based on what Taylor has said about picking best available there may well be someone left on the board at our pick who we didn't expect and who we rate higher. I think there's plenty of room for surprises in this draft because after pick 3 it looks pretty unclear which order everyone will rate the next 10-15 picks in.
