I’m now convinced we’ll take Windsor and Tholstrup. I’d personally take Curtin if he’s there. But I understand why we’ll take Windsor as we desperately need speed and skills in the middle. Tholstrup I rate with our second. Can come in next year and has both a bit of spark and defensive pressure which is very important.

Should be an entertaining evening on here. 🥳

Been some talk of GWS trading pick 7 as clubs want to move up the draft board to pick Curtin if he does slide.
Why not pick Curtin at 6 and offer GWS 11 and F1 for pick 7
If Melbourne are keen on Windsor draft him.
Out Pick 6,7,F1
In Curtin + Windsor

If we wanted Curtin we would just pick him instead.

I would draft him, he looks more promising than Windsor and Tholstrup that we have been linked to.

Or if the eagles offer their future first and second for pick 6 i would also also do that trade.

But we're not reaching for Windsor if we believe that GWS will take him at the next pick if we don't?

It’s clear as day GWS have there eyes on WC F1

They are just saying they will take Windsor so that we won’t take Curtin and ruin there plans (and Windsor at 11)

If both Curtin and Windsor are on the board at 7, I am certain GwS will prioritise WC F1

I have no reason to doubt your impeccable intel

Would not be surprised if Curtin goes to the Hawks or Kangas . TBO i have no idea what will happen tonite .
The last month or so he’s had more talk about him than Reid, I like a good mystery draft with some unknowns 😜

If the phantom drafts are correct, it seems we like Windsor more than Curtin.

Even if we like them both, if WC are really keen then they can offer their first next year to GWS which is more than we could give them.

What do you think GWS will do if both Curtin and Windsor on the board at 7?

Pass on Curtin? / trading him?
In that case, I imagine they'd field offers for the pick from WC and Adelaide. I know they really like Leake too, so could look to shift back a couple of spots by dealing with Adelaide, though they'd need to be sure that Geelong and Essendon would pass him up.

Can't really see a scenario where GWS has the choice between the two though, unless we do something left field like picking a Caddy/O'Sullivan, which seems pretty unlikely at this stage.

If we go Leake it would force GwS hand. Might mean Windsor slips to 11, otherwise Tholstrupp

My boy

One recruiter told foxfooty.com.au Tholstrup was “the best character” of the 2023 draft class

"Also in the mix for Essendon at 9". Mich0 this is the point I was making about 'reaching' – the market and draft order dictates the player's value, not phantom drafts from journos. Obviously rated fairly highly as Essendon and Adelaide are linked to him with their first picks, too. Had we not made the trade for 11*, good chance he wouldn't have been on the board come our pick.

No doubt tomorrow will be a night of calm reflection if it turns out we didn't actually have a solid plan to justify trading those two picks to move up to 11.

I'll melt if some other club takes Kynan Brown to make up for it.

WHAT WAS TIM LAMB THINKING?? HOW COULD YOU NOT KNOW ERROL GULDEN 2.0 WOULD GET DRAFTED???
