I'd agree with most of that but if we need to look at playing Kemp or Gov forward our side is seriously unbalanced.
Cant be too unbalanced, cos we have beaten some top sides and just won our first cut throat final.

Just appreciate the moment without the harsh criticism, no team ever is or has been perfect and in a game of 2 good teams someone is going to win and someone is going to lose.

We were nervy in patches all game. The brain fades didn’t make things easy. But how about the fact we grinded that win out under some strong pressure defensively in that last quarter, with the inexperienced group we have in finals. In much better stead now for next week to deal with such a pressure game. The experience they’ve just had is worth its weight in gold.
Agree entirely we played like a team frightened to lose instead of wanting to win

Knew we had it then

Cottrell was best on in my opinion, closely followed by Acres.
Made my coffee this morning and put Fox Footy on and the replay was on. Pretty much right at the spot where Cotters made that run down tackle at the end of the 3rd.
Acres and Martin were massive in the 4th. Both will be missed if Acres is injured and Martin cops a suspension.

We really need to work on our late game composure when things are getting close. Bombing blind and long to contests or wide open opposition players will come back to haunt us at the worst possible time.

Apart from the first few minutes of the game, I've come away thinking that Sydney were a shade better than us, totally kicked them selves out of it.
Need a big improvement next week, poor old Harry won't be there. But considering his recent form, that might be doing us a favour.
So you don't think our overall pressure contributed to them stuffing up a lot?
And that we were in front for the entire game, and also kicked a fair few points?
Could not be prouder of our boys. And it wasn't what I'd call enjoyable until final siren.
Both sides locking down.
For mine, we were clearly the better team, as we prevailed against theirs and umps rampant last q pressure.

How bloody good is it to be back playing and more importantly winning finals. The G was absolutely pumping last night.

I thought some of our lesser lights were outstanding - Acres, Cottrell, Hewett, Marchbank. Plus strong performances from Walsh, Cerra, Saad and Martin.

Sydney under Longmire were never going to go meekly so very pleased to hold them off in the end.

Onto to next week, back at the G. Go blues.
A very difficult battle lies ahead.
Us v Ticketmaster.

He’s possibly one of the best runners to ever play in the AFL.

It’s not a lack of respect, they just can’t keep up.
100%. Maybe Langdon could... but just quietly, I wouldn't swap Cottrell for Langdon, All-Australian or not (did Langdon get a jacket in 2021? Can't remember.) Cottrell is a much better aerialist, as well as being more dangerous around goal, both with ground balls and set shots.

Yep. 2 direct goal assists for H, along with 7 score involvements and 3 super important contested grabs. Still a decent game.
I am not denying Mckay's positive game or his selection but prelims and Grandfinals are games of inches. Missing 2 shots from the goal square will not cut it in the biggest games
