1st Final, picked to play Sydney at the G.

Owies Curnow Motlop

Pittonet Cerra Hewett

TDK Dow Cincotta Hollands

Happy with the 18. Fish and Fog just didn't impress enough and fairly easy outs. Cunners, Dowy and Hollands went just ok but we really need to retain some run. Toss up between Cinc and Marchy but that extra run wins again. Would love to bring Kennedy in but too long out, and once again run, counts against him.

Tough calls around the edges for sure. Good luck MC. There'll be no complaints from me because we can win or lose with any combo of those edge players.

Out - Durdin, Marchbank, Dow, Acres, Cuningham and Fisher
In - Cripps, Docherty, Motlop, Boyd and Pitto

Boyd - Weitering - McGovern
Saad - Kemp - Newman
Cottrell - Cripps - Hollands
Walsh - Harry - Fogarty
Owies - Curnow - Motlop
TDK - Cerra - Hewett
I/C - Pitto, Docherty, Cincotta, Martin
Sub - Dow

Assuming the worst case scenario

OUT - Acres, Weitering, Fisher, Cincotta, Cuningham

IN - Cripps, Docherty, Motlop, Pittonet, Boyd

Sub - Likely Dow or Hollands

Hollands I consider lucky. Should Acres have not been injured, Hollands would have made way.

As much as I’d prefer Boyd in for Fish, I don’t think you could bring him in to a cutthroat final without any recent games at AFL level/intensity.

Cripps, Doc, Pitto, and Mots have to come back in.

Durdin and Fogarty will be dropped. Cincotta likely to be unlucky and dropped also. Probably Fish as the other. The guys going out vs the guys going in really shifts the balance of the team so we need to be careful. Some really tough calls to be made. Think Dow will be the sub as they’ll be cautious at the prospect of Cerra or Walsh breaking down and how that could expose our midfield rotations. Similarly, I think Hollands holds in case Acres cops a knock and goes down mid game. Outside of that I’m finding it hard to make cuts. Don’t think Cuners can be dropped as he’s usually a one touch player with class in the forward half.

Don’t think that Fisher’s only straight swap out is Boyd. If he’s playing the sweeper role then that’s Doc’s bread and butter. For me, that’s one of the easier changes to make for the EF.

I want Boyd attending Papley.
Hopefully Boyd also supplies some rebound if Papley pays him no respect …

Defending our turnovers will be key no matter who is in or out as if we can't force stoppage on turnover we n trouble . need pitto to keep up our clearance dominance .. McKay playing ruck fwd is probably the future but it sure ain't the now --would love JSOS heart and appetite for the contest in his body .
MCG we should win

Fact... There's going to be changes...

Automatic Inclusions: Cripps, Docherty & Motlop
Under Concern: Weitering* & Acres*
In the Mix: Pittonet, Boyd, Kennedy & Big Durdin
Under Pressure: McKay, Fisher, Cincotta, Dow, Little Durdin, Marchbank, Hollands & Cuningham

Not sure about Hollands (this year) against men in a brutal final, that Sydney are experienced in...
