I reckon Kosi Pickett might be my favourite player in the comp at the moment. He's like a top shelf Ben Long.

Yeah he's great to watch, though surely he cops quite a few weeks for the hit on Smith.

Probably in the minority here but I reckon Smith is a net negative for the dogs. Turnover merchant, and with how costly turnovers are these days you'd almost the ball ended in dispute than in his hands

Really? Or are we just doing that thing where we smack talk former players? I knew he was a bit of a loose unit, in the sense he would get on the nose beers a lot while on recovery from injuries.

Of all the blokes to get FIGJAM-y, he should not be one... Coasted as a second option with Roo running around when he was with us, before that we tried to play him in defence and it just did not ****in work. The man has stolen a wage for pretty much his entire career.

I few teams wouldn't be to happy atm

• Lions getting well beaten by Port after saying they won the trade period with Dunkley etc.
• Tigers not beating the Pies / after maxing out there salary cap on Taranto and Hopper, they would of been expecting the win.
• Suns just not performing again.
• Dogs under perform again.

First game is no guide but winning settles the nerves a bit.

He was very very ordinary against Melbourne that's for damn sure. Turned over nearly every kick I saw him take. Just spitballing but maybe less ridiculous GQ "fashion" shoots, more practice footballing?

Bruce looked mediocre at best down back, he's just a big body at this stage imo. Darcy was comically bad. Naughton and Libba can hold their heads high. RIP English in the ruck, a murder occured.

Geelong as well. Sides take time to bring in new players. Collingwood and Port seem to have done it quite successfully though.

I don't think you can read much in to it yet. You need to get to about round 6 to get a real form line.

Port and the Pies have both come out looking like they mean business but you wouldn't want to put your money down on either yet.

I wish we weren't going last. Feels like the nerves have more time to build up.

I didn't watch but Liam Jones looks like he hardly touched the ball too. Bruce, Jones and Keath are three big lumps with similar traits. English is very similar to Marshall where he's a good midfielder who plays ruck but can get monstered by the big star rucks.

So even this year too. For the middle rung sides it might take until round 23 to decide who plays finals. If we can hold up early in the year we could have a good run at some point. We chose to ask for a pretty poor commercial fixture but one that gives us the best chance to make finals.

We said the same thing last year. They come out breathing fire but the fitness levels off and they haven't kept much in the tank. Old tortoise Geelong just paced themselves and came home strong while Melbourne trickled out. Carlton and St Kilda might have been similar.

Yeah Jones went off with a shoulder or arm injury early. Interestingly enough they said Heath has dropped 8kg in the off-season, might have been more because I certainly didn't spot him. I feel like English doesn't have the goal sense of Roma, tbh likely biased but I'd have Marshall every day of the week.
