I ******* despise the AFL’s lack of consistency on all things decision-making.

Tribunals & MROs, umpiring & score reviews, player awards etc, 9/10 it’s a farcical s**t show.

Should just get a spinning wheel and make it a proper lottery.

Makes me laugh how these things go to the tribunal and a group sit there replaying the footage over and over. It's clear as day that Maynard went to smother and it was a football accident. You didn't need a million replays or a tribunal discussion to figure that out.

Concerns me that those people in those positions are either blind, stupid or both

What I don’t think is fair in this situation is that the player genuinely playing the ball is the one who is hurt and misses a game/s whilst the one trying to stop him gets off scott free.

Gils lawyers buddies need to make some cash of those sweet 12 minute increments baby.

Giansiracusa on Kosi was a football act at the time. Thank heavens its not any more. Maynard launched with gay abandon and left any care on the last blade of turf. Brayshaw conversely missed the last 3 quarters and at least a semi final and may well suffer life long consequences. But yes Eddie, jump up from your 3rd course....just don't land on your wife.

Not saying you're right or wrong, but consider what would have happened had Steven May done it to Naicos...

Be like getting a waterbed dropped on her.

Then surely Day running into Paddy Ryder was a "football accident" ..... I mean Paddy Ryder had completely come to stand still and Day changed direction into him ..... result .... Ryder 2 weeks

Complete lottery

Absolutely no defence of that decision and outcome but this assumed the MRO, Tribunal and Appeals board gives a shit about consistent and precedent.

They absolutely do not. ****ing clown show the whole thing.

Remember Daisy Pearce going on for 30 minutes about a perfect Butler tackle trying to get him rubbed out.
I bet she was on the Maynard bandwagon of 'football accident', the ugly alien looking forehead.

The one on Blakey I think v Sydney?

I have a suggestion: these Maynard bumps, sling tackles, rough conduct matters - fine if you are going to rely on “football act” defence but there is a duty of care so regardless of MRO grading, you miss the same number of games as the player you bump, tackle etc and injure. I think if you introduced that consequence to a you’d see players taking greater care.

Imagine if Maynard was mid air and floating towards N Daicos. No way he leads with the shoulder. Would be interesting if it were J Ginnivan though. 50/50 I reckon.

Thanks for letting me get that off my chest. I’ll see myself out. Good day folks.

It’s true, Sicilies tackle was a football act and he still got 3 weeks.

The Ryder bump… there’s just a stack of examples that fly in the face of this decision.

Just scrap the faux courtroom, get a couple of not neaderthal ex players as MRO (yes, Chrisso needs a hand he shouldn’t be adjudicating on pies players even if it’s just perceived bias). Then have the tribunal made up by a couple of other people, clubs present a case, the AFL doesn’t and the tribunal decides whether it should be overturned or not. They don’t actually give a shit about precedent so why bother with the courtroom shit.

If Gininivan had of done it, they'd add charges like a burger with the works to keep him out until 2025.

Do you think caminiti should have been suspended for knocking Owens out?

Yes. We lost Owens for a couple of weeks. Could have cost us finals…

Very good point you make. Maybe my position is just “bad luck” if it’s an opposition player - cop it sweet. Just like now it’s “bad luck” Brayshaw you are in concussion protocols and miss the next two games. Seems more just this way around.

It's a very difficult thing to sort out. Really it comes down to should you be punished for an accident if it results in something bad happening.

Remember this when Ben King punched his own team mate in the head by accident? Should he have been sanctioned?
