As a dual tribunal tonight, it started at 4, unfortunately I was still working so playing catch up.

Maynards already given evidence, lot of yeah mate no mate, I'm frustrated and angry I'm here holding a rubber footy mate coming off as a real DH in commentary.

The AFL rep whilst speaking well, has mad dislike ratio, think 140 positive to almost 700 negative, this has traction!
Gleeson is still a prick.
That ends the update at present, as Gleeson put the biomechanist on hold so he could scratch his left nut and remark what the hand is doing to anytone that gives a shit. Probably his fake plant and whatever insect was desperate enough to touch it.

Edit: lookit the ratio

"says Maynard would've had no more than 400 milliseconds to respond."

Lol
Managed to tuck his arms in and clean him up

Make it 4 weeks now
Just because

some of the lies he's coming out with are hilarious... should have just said "cant have been me, wasnt at the ground"

Collingwood’s Brayden Maynard has been cleared for his heavy hit on Melbourne onballer Angus Brayshaw, freeing him to play in the remainder of the Magpies’ finals series.

Shocked 🙄

When I first seen the Maynard incident my gut feel was he should get off he’s jumped to smother and hit him in the head accidentally on the way down it’s just a footballing incident not malicious.
I wasn’t to fussed if he got off or got weeks.
After watching the Eddie and Jimmy podcast and listening to McGuire defend him I could’ve spewed up and I was desperately hoping he got rubbed out.
The tribunal is so inconsistent.

My first thought was he'd get off as football action and oopsie.
When he got cited it was tribunal will state something like "you shifted weight right cause you knew Angus was there and so you bumped" and then argue that weight shift should have been to the left to avoid a brace into a body.
Then the tribunal happened and it was narrative all along.

At least with Martins case it didn't take 3 hours and just took the 1 and we're back to normal practice of club ep talking, AFL going "no u" and people discussing if any point was made at all by anyone employed by the AFL.

More inconsistent bullshit from the tribunal, Maynard was always going to get cleared though after the media boys club went into bat for him
I agree, but I had been thinking today when I saw Brayshaw's brother talking about the hit potentially ending Gus' career and the AFL must be very careful because from that hit alone could be legal repercussions.

As others have said, if Maynard had time to change his body position and move into a brace, then he had the same time to do something else. Gee, at some point someone has to take a proper stand on this and not just send down the easy ones.

I wonder whether the AFL appeal it?

Looking at the replay again Maynard eyes never left Brayshaw from the time he left the ground ... he knew where he was .... and I would think it was pretty obvious that there was a very real chance of a collision .... even if Brayshaw didn't move ever so slightly off line Maynard still would have crashed into him

So this 4 hundredths of a second or the unconscious decision to bring his arms in and point his shoulder is a load of elephant shit because Maynard had plenty of time to assess the situation .... once Maynard left the ground and he could have kept his arms outstretched to soften the impact knowing a collision was inevitable ...... a biomechanist could have easily argued this point but the Tribunal / Christian got the reasoning that suited their quite obvious "nothing to answer for" agenda and were quite happy to clear based on one way evidence ..... they didn't even want to charge him in the first place

Complete farce

It must be just me but when the defence witness says this

"Professor Michael Cole, a biomechanist and neuroscientist. “It was more of an innate response. Once in flight, he’s ESSENTIALLY A MISSILE"

I would have thought any self respecting prosecutor or judge might consider asking the witness whether they consider "turning yourself into a missile" could be classed as being a tad "careless".

Its the weird thing about the Tribunal and shows the complete lack of conviction from the AFL.

Its now become a very legalistic process but only from the defence side.

The Prosecutors (the AFL) determine the charge by virtue of a inflexible "table" (X + Y + Z = 3 weeks) but don't call witnesses, experts etc to support there case.

The defence then pick everything apart with a microscope looking for a loophole to get there client off.
